Twin day for Red Ribbon Week!

As we shared over the summer, the FHSD Board of Education and district superintendent, Dr. Nathan Hoven, created a Resolution in Response to Racism and Discrimination, that we also adopted. We are getting ready to take our first steps toward creating a more inclusive environment for all students here at Barnwell. Next week, we will be sharing a video with our students. After viewing the video, we will start this conversation in Pack Time classes by discussing implicit and exp...licit bias. If you would like to view the Pack Time lessons for the week of November 16 and/or the video, you can find the links in the comments. These lessons, along with previous lessons such as identity and celebrating differences, will be a foundation for future lessons on dignity and equity for all. In addition, you will notice in the video, we are starting a committee of staff and community members to discuss topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate specifically to Barnwell; this committee will meet monthly in the evening.
