Help make our voices heard follow the links below and demand that Congress take action to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour. No one who worked for a livi...ng should be on starvation wages. All workers are essential and must have adequate COVID-19 protections. If we don't say something they won't do nothing. Stand Up and Be Heard! Jay Ozier CBTU St. Louis Chapter President Workers around the country are striking today because we're sick of being treated like we're disposable. Workers even had to walk off the job and sue corporations like McDonald's last year in order to get proper PPE and we're still not getting paid what we're worth. We've spent years organizing, striking, and WINNING, and we've got the receipts: $70 billion in raises for over 27 million workers thanks to our actions. But we're not done yet. Until ALL workers are paid enough to live a life of safety and dignity, we'll keep organizing, marching, and striking. Stand with striking workers, and send your lawmakers a postcard telling them: Respect us, protect us, and PAY us here: https://www.respectprotectpayus.org/action?utm_campaign

Some Black history....

If all goes according to plan, today will be the day that we have worked so hard to achieve-- the day that will allow us to revitalize AFGE in our spirit and fr...ee us from four of Trump's terrible EOs. Specifically, President Biden is expected to issue new EOs as follows: Restores collective bargaining power and worker protections by revoking Trump Executive Orders 13836, 13837, and 13839. It goes further to direct agencies to bargain over permissible, non-mandatory subjects of bargaining when contracts are up for negotiation so that workers have a greater voice in their working conditions. Eliminates Schedule F, which undermines the foundations of the civil service. Its existence threatens the critical protections of career employees and provides a pathway to burrow political appointees into the civil service. Promotes a $15 minimum wage. The Executive Order directs agencies to review which federal workers earn less than $15 per hour and develops recommendations to promote a $15 per hour minimum wage for them. This last one is especially good for our WG employees and I am very pleased to see it included! Let’s pray and stay tuned for the announcement.
