Our vendors are getting ready for the market! What a great sign Mandy, we can't wait for all of the goodies you have this year!

We are about one month out from our first market on May 1st! Here is a photo taken from the first market on May 5, 2012. We have definitely packed in quite a few more vendors and made some additions since this photo has been taken! Here is a snippet from our first press release that introduces the market 10 years ago! The market will include approximately 26 seasonal vendors and additional daily vendors selling farm-fresh produce, organic products, meats, cheeses, baked go...ods, jams, honey and arts and crafts. All products are locally grown, produced or prepared. The event will include weekly demonstrations and entertainment as well as a sitting area for patrons. It is great to see many traditions of the market live on, and also to see the growth of the market. Instead of 26 seasonal vendors, we now have around 40! I wonder what our 20th anniversary will look like??

We are 5 weeks out until our first market! Are you all getting excited yet? This year is extra special for the Cape Riverfront Market since it is our 10th anniversary. We have had some fun digging through some old files from our first few markets and found our old market logo! So here is a throwback from 10 years ago for you all! If you have been around long enough, what are some things you remember from the first few market seasons??

Our final goal for 2021 is to re-evaluate the operations of the Cape Riverfront Market to make even more of an impact in our downtown and our community by provi...ding a rich variety of seasonal produce, artisanal crafts, fresh groceries, and more! Our vendor meeting was wildly successful this year, and we have had more interested applicants than we have ever had before! We plan to keep Spanish Street closed to compensate for this influx of applicants and hope to see it serve a greater audience and support more local vendors. We also hope to form a strong volunteer committee to better execute all the behind the scenes work at the market. We know that this market generates a lot of traffic and brings joy to so many during the months of May October, and we want to see growth to better serve the community, our small business vendors, and keep people attracted to our downtown! Tomorrow, Tuesday February 23rd, is our Cape Riverfront Market Vendor Meeting! It will be from 6-8 pm at the Wheel House upstairs in Port Cape! If you are interested in becoming a vendor this season you will not want to miss this meeting! Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Less than 3 months away until the start of our Riverfront Market! We are very excited for this season as it marks our 10th anniversary!! The demonstration tent at the Cape Riverfront Market serves as an education-based station for anyone attending the market. You, your organizations, or your businesses have the unique opportunity to set up for a morning at the Cape Riverfront Market to educate attendees about your business, organization, or hobbies and careers. This is a great way to get your services into the public's eye as our market generates a ton of traffic throughout the season!
