"The future resurrection of Jesus himself, and all God's people, is coming forward into the present in the person , and through the public ministry, of Jesus." (Note, by resurrection, Wright includes ALL that will include when the world is made right and we are with God.)

Take a moment for me to read Luke 9, today's gospel reading: https://www.bible.com/bible/111/LUK.9.NIV Quick Note: In the Transfiguration "they spoke about his departure", but the footnote reveals, departure is exodus in the Greek. The connection can not be missed. From slavery into the promised land... now it may feel that we are in the wilderness. And we are in the space between. But God is with guiding us to the place he prepared, prepared because he went there first!

Take a moment to read Luke 8, today's gospel reading: https://www.bible.com/bible/111/LUK.8.NIV Quick Thought: Luke 8:26-39 -- Salvation brings change. The community was used to the possessed man, chained and raging... I am sure they were afraid of him. But they knew how to avoid him. Yet here he was clothed and in his right mind. But the people didn't rejoice. Sure, a human was healed, but their livelyhood was endangered... pig bodies still floated in the lake. So the people were afraid. Are we ready to follow Jesus? It will bring salvation to others. But it will endanger other things... including our finances.
