Attention residents: Due to the weather, City Hall will be working from home tomorrow. Our phone lines will operate the same and we have the ability to remote in to our computers. We just wanted to let everyone know that the door will be closed but we will still be able to assist everyone. Stay warm and safe.

Residents on Barton Hill and residents on the southern side of the city are going to lose power at 8:15 PM. A line has went down and power has to be shut down to repair it. It will take at least an hour to repair the line.

Power should be restored to all residents.

Attention: Thayer Municipal Court for February 16, 2021 has been cancelled and all cases have been moved to March 16, 2021.

Attention residents: Power should be fully functional. Last night was a long cold night and our crew had to wait for Entergy to come maintain their service that feeds the City power. The City would like to thank you for your patience and we hope everyone is warm and safe this morning.

Attention residents: If your electrical service is operating at minimal or half power the City Electrical Dept would appreciate if you could unplug your major appliances or shut off the main breaker to your house. The City is trying to fix the issue and this will help get power back to normal. Thank you.

The City of Thayer is accepting applications for the position of City Clerk. This is a fulltime position, Monday-Friday, with benefits such as retirement and health insurance. Having a strong background in accounting and public relations is recommended and applicants should be willing to work some overtime hours for Council meetings and other duties. The City of Thayer has scheduled the Fall Cleanup! We will have a dumpster placed at the Street Dept across from the Cemetery from OCT 23 thru NOV 2. There will be NO CURB SIDE PICKUP, you must bring your trash to the dumpster. Please do not bring any Electronics, Microwaves, Paints or Tires to the dumpster. THIS IS FOR CITY OF THAYER CUSTOMERS ONLY!!
