Crossroads College Preparatory School 02.04.2021

A Special Sunday Shout Out from Coach Beatrice! In a year that began with athletic opportunities canceled or delayed, we were successfully able to navigate through a condensed basketball season. We are proud to have two senior basketball players complete their careers at Crossroads. And then the snow took their Senior Night. As unfortunate as that is, it does not prohibit us from celebrating their contributions to our basketball program over the past four years. Jordan Bogan ...finished his career as one of the most physical players in Crossroads history. With excellent speed and presence, Jordan became one of our leaders by example. He spent his senior season being double and triple teamed every night, as everyone knew we were trying to get him the ball. He remained determined and served as an excellent teammate by sharing the ball for more open opportunities. He became a quiet leader who was always willing to help younger players, while always valuing the team over himself. Thank you Jordan for providing four years of hard work on the court. Jackson Dobslaw competed with our team for four years as well. Jackson has always been an excellent teammate and hard worker. He was a bit of a late bloomer on the court, but he had a senior season he should be very proud of. Jackson was an integral part of our team this season. He was always willing to do the dirty work that does not get noticed by many. Jackson supplied so much energy to our team by grabbing important rebounds, helping break presses, and being a versatile defender. Thank you Jackson for being the type of player that coaches love to coach, and thank you for four years of dedication. Congratulations Jackson and Jordan!

Ever heard a racist joke and not known how to respond? Racial encounters from micro-aggressions to offensive jokes to outright racism can be hard to navigate and complicated by a number of things (Was this a well-meaning remark from Great Aunt Edna that didn't land well? Will speaking up threaten someone's status, or yours? Are you reading too much into it? Is it even your place to speak up?). We get it. So, we've put together a What To Do Wednesday post on responding to racism. The answer? Say something! Got something to add? We're all about learning, so drop your ideas, reactions, and questions in the comments. #BlackHistoryMonth #equity #antiracism
