David wrote this Psalm during a time of affliction and crisis. Despite his circumstances, David still had a great trust in God’s love for him. A new day can br...ing a fresh perspective on God’s unfailing love. You have a new day today, and likely another one tomorrow. A prayer for you today is that as you put your trust in Him, He will show you the way to go today and you will experience His unfailing love. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Love #lovelikepastorjohn CelebrateRecovery.com

Saw this today and immediately thought of the recovery journey. Some days are easy and some days are not and we need a reminder to keep on keeping on. So, today no matter where you are at in your journey, MARCH ON, even if it's tiptoes and one step forward and two steps back, you're still farther ahead than you were before. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

Do you believe that God can help you with your fear and anxiety? Write in the comments which fears or anxieties you want to hand over to Christ. If you already ...have, maybe add a praise report on how it’s going! Excerpt from the Spiritual Inventory Part 1 Lesson: Your fear imprisons you; your faith liberates you. Fear paralyzes; faith empowers! Fear disheartens; faith encourages! Fear sickens; faith heals! Faith in Jesus Christ will allow you to face your past fears, and with faith you can be free of fear’s chains. First John 4:18 says, There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Fear #Anxiety #Faith CelebrateRecovery.com

Some of us spend so much energy trying to get to ok, as if there is some universal status in life where all troubles disappear. Have you ever considered the v...alue of not being ok? 1. Not being ok may keep our reliance on God’s comfort and not our own ability to control life. 2. Not being ok can equip us to help others who are working through some of life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. All praises belong to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort. He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 TPT You are a child of God who lives in a broken world. Even when you’re not ok, Jesus makes you ok. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #NotOK CelebrateRecovery.com

This phrase was in the first personal testimony Pastor John Baker shared in a weekend service at Saddleback Church... almost 30 years ago. Pastor Rick Warren f...rom Saddleback Church shared beautifully about the Celebrate Recovery founder in his message this last weekend. He shared about Pastor John’s love for people, his family, and Christ. Anyone who loves Celebrate Recovery or Pastor John should certainly give the message a watch. You ever fall in to the trap of not wanting to face the truth? Maybe you want something so badly that it is easier to lie to yourself than face the reality of t...he situation? Denial has been defined as a false system of beliefs that are not based on reality and a self-protecting behavior that keeps us from honestly facing the truth. Have you ever heard something like this: Can we stop talking about it? Talking only makes it worse. If we don’t talk about it, it will go away. Let’s pretend that it didn’t really happen. If I tell them that it hurts me when they say that, I’m afraid will leave me. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32 NIV #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Denial CelebrateRecovery.com

In their session on Codependency, Cheryl and Jeni Baker highlight ways to find out value in God instead of other people. When we find out value in God we are mo...re likely to find success in our recovery. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1 NIV For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Today we celebrate love. Some people focus on their love with a significant other, some with their family, and others the love they have with friends. Regardle...ss of your focus, let’s remember that our entire capacity to show and receive love comes directly from God. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:7-9 NIV If you’re feeling or giving love today, don’t forget to thank the source from which it comes! Happy Valentine’s Day Family! #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Love CelebrateRecovery.com

Jesus’ freedom is more than just being alleviated of our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. It certainly can include that, but it also includes being grafted into God...’s incredible forever family. In John 8, Jesus was having a discussion with Jews over their earthly heritage verses their heavenly heritage. They answered him, We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free? Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. John 8:33-37 NIV When you accept Christ’s work on the cross and join God’s family, your freedom is a birthright. As we continue to make room for His word in our hearts, He will continue to give us His power to find freedom from sin. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Freedom CelebrateRecovery.com
