Many chronic health symptoms can be linked to heavy metals and environmental chemicals such as metallic taste in the mouth, neuropathy, brain fog, fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, liver, kidney, heart and brain damage, mitochondrial dysfunction, mood disorders and many more. HM-ET Binder has an affinity for a variety of toxic heavy metals including arsenic, cadmium, lead, and aluminum. We are constantly exposed to these elements in our environment both naturally occur...ring in the earth's crust, but now predominantly from man's industrial use of heavy metals in certain industries and occupations. HM-ET Binder mops up a range of environmental chemicals including glyphosate, benzene, and formaldehyde. Like all of CellCore's binders, HM-ET has the capacity to go systemically and not only mop up environmental toxins in the gut, but also at a cellular level unlike that majority of other binders out there. Not only does HM-ET strongly bind to toxins and facilitate their excretion out of the body, it also provides necessary energy in the form of electrons to cells that have been damaged by toxins, allowing them to repair after the interference in removing. While many types of binders have been used successfully over the course of history, activated charcoal, or zeolite sprays form weaker bonds with toxins than do CellCore's bioactive carbon binders, allowing for the possibility of dissociation, or uncoupling of the toxin from the binder, where it has a chance to circulate and settle elsewhere in the body, rather than being excreted when it belong. It is essential to make sure your drainage and detox pathways are functioning properly prior to trying to remove heavy metals and environmental toxins, and this is something I generally address in later protocols with many of my clients, as addressing them initially can be too much on a body that has a very high toxic burden. As in most cases, your best bet is to seek the guidance of an experienced practitioner who has work with heavy metal and chemical removal, to help you devise a plan to continue your healing journey!

Heavy metals, and pesticides, and mycotoxins, oh my! Our mitochondria play a pivotal role in powering every function of our body, in addition to their role as immune system regulators. While mitochondria may be the "powerhouse of the cell", that does not mean they are safe from the deleterious effects of various toxins, both natural and man-made. Many of the negative symptoms people experience after they have been exposed to mold, heavy metals, or environmental chemicals are ...a direct result of adrenal impairment (check out the previous post for a list of symptoms and conditions associated with mitochondrial dysfunction). Any toxin or infection, including those listed above, can directly or indirectly contribute to mitochondrial disease. There are several tools we use in our clinical setting that help us assess a person's level of mitochondrial function. While there are many other fantastic types of mitochondrial testing available, I prefer to use Organic Acid Testing, Mycotox testing, blood chemistry markers, and hair tissue mineral analysis. The Organic Acids Test by Great Plains Lab is a fantastic way to assess mitochondrial health. It contains several different sections on the testing that look at mitochondrial markers for Krebs Cycle metabolites, fatty acid oxidation, and amino acid metabolism, etc. It also indirectly measures nutritional markers that are important for mitochondrial health, such as CoQ10 and B2 (riboflavin). The Mycotox test is a urinary mycotoxin assessment also from Great Plains Labs that can help determine if mycotoxins in the tissues may be an issue driving symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction. Mycotoxins can be extremely toxic to the mitochondria and be especially hard to remove without implementing a proper detox protocol. Certain blood chemistry markers can help give us insight into mitochondrial function. This includes liver, heart, and kidney markers, as these are the organs most likely to be impacted by mitochondrial dysfunction, since they all contain massive amounts of mitochondria to power their essential functions..

When you realize the importance of your mitochondria not only in your energy levels but also in your immune system function, it makes sense that so many diseases that have been given individual labels all share the same common root: physical breakdown due to mitochondrial dysfunction. Conditions that are associated with altered mitochondrial function include Alzheimer's disease, ALS, diabetes, and cancer, among many others. Symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction are vast and ...including such things as poor growth, fatigue, muscle pain or weakness, low muscle tone, exercise intolerance, visual and/or hearing problems, learning disabilities or delays, heart, kidney, or liver disease, autism-like behaviors, gastrointestinal issues, blood sugar problems, increased risk of infections, neurological problems like seizures or strokes, movement disorders, thyroid problems, and lactic acid buildup. Have you ever considered the role mitochondrial health plays in the pathogenesis of any of the conditions mentioned above? Most research and clinical practice completely overlooks or disregards the role of our mitochondria in these situations. Because of this, many people continue to suffer without known cause... their mitochondria are signaling for help and the call is not being answered! Luckily, addressing toxins and infections that are impairing the mitochondria, and boosting your mito back up to top working condition can often help you regain your energy and diminish mitochondrial dysfunction related symptoms as mentioned above!

If a person is using protocols involving antibiotics or antibacterial herbs to address Lyme, and not underlying internal colonization or environmental exposure of mold spores and mycotoxins, they may be unable to overcome the symptoms of Lyme disease. Likewise, having chronic Lyme disease can make a person more susceptible to the negative consequences of mold exposure. If one person in a family living in a moldy home has Lyme disease, all the other members of the household ma...y not experience any symptoms of mold toxicity, however the person with lowered immunity due to Lyme will likely suffer exponentially in the moldy environment. It is often difficult to make a diagnosis of mold or Lyme disease, as many of the symptoms are similar including: Headaches Mood swings Neurological issues Chronic Lyme and mold exposure are found together so often that many consider them to be co-conditions. Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) are often blanket terms applied for these symptoms. Both mold and Lyme initiate the same inflammatory pathways in the body. Blood levels of low MSH paired with high levels of high C4A, MMP-9, and TGF b-1 are common in biotoxin illness, and one way to help determine if that is the cause of a person's issues. While it can be quite difficult to differentiate if symptoms are related primarily to mold or to Lyme disease, there are some subtle differences. Mold symptoms stay relatively consistent no matter what, but become worse in wet or humid climates and seasons. People often experience burning itching eyes, icoughing, digestive complaints, static shock, and depression that increases with herxing during detoxification if the detox and drainage pathways are not properly supported. The symptoms of chronic Lyme are much more like a see-saw, with flaring of symptoms. One day a person may feel fine, and absolutely tank and crash the next day. The immune system may mount a response that knocks down the infectious load, but then it may rebound with a vengeance.

Lyme disease rarely travels alone...the bacteria, Borrelia, that causes Lyme disease is often found in addition to other infectious microbes. These "co-infections" as they are called, may complicate the treatment of Lyme and cause an increased variety of symptoms associated with each pathogen. Babesia is an intracellular parasite, meaning it burrows into the red blood cells and hides from the immune system there. It replicates inside and eventually causes the RBC to burst op...en, causing autoimmune hemolytic anemia, where RBC count drops because they are being destroyed faster than they can be produced because of the presence of a parasite. Babesia is one of the most common co-infections when it comes to Lyme disease. It is reported that nearly 40% of people infected with Borrelia are also infected with Babesia, potentially causing big problems for people who already have overwhelmed immune systems, and requiring a longer time to get better than just Lyme alone. A person may be diagnosed with anemia (due to the RBCs breaking down too quickly), low blood pressure, and potentially heart problems in later stages, as this muscle requires huge amounts of oxygen and the infection can cause small blood clots inside of blood vessels. Babesiosis leads to chronic fatigue due to oxygen deprivation of all the body cells. Bartonella is a pathogenic bacteria transmitted by ticks, fleas, lice, and possibly spiders to humans and other animals (like your pets!) . When pets contract it from fleas and ticks, they can transmit it to their owners through scratches or bites. Fever Fatigue Headache Poor appetite Swollen lymph nodes Rash Some long term symptoms include: Neurological issues Skin lesions (bacillary angiomatosis) Inflammatory conditions like endocarditis (heart inflammation) Neuroretinitis (eyes) Peliosis hepatis (liver) Encephalopathy (brain) The most noticeable symptom is what appears to be stretch marks, but is actually a striated, streaky rash caused by Bartonellosis. This rash usually occurs on the lower back and/or kidney area. For more information on these individual infections, please check out the blog posts on drjabanmoore.com!

Coffee enemas...a new way to enjoy your morning cup of joe! Just kidding. But seriously, someone people swear by coffee enemas to help stop overwhelming detox reactions in their tracks when they are feeling rundown during a detox protocol. Here’s how it works. Coffee enema therapy stimulates the liver and gallbladder to increase bile flow, which aids the liver in its detoxification efforts. It’s believed to do this from the ingredient, Cafestol palmitate, which is found in t...he coffee. Cafestol palmitate increases the activity of glutathione S-transferase (GST), which is an enzyme that causes dilatation of bile ducts and excretion of bile. In addition to this function, GST also help glutathione, our master antioxidant, bind onto toxins like heavy metals. Coffee enemas help us not only to purge toxic bile and prevent it from re-circulating toxins, it also boosts our body's inherent anti-oxidant capacity! Coffee enemas help some people stock uncomfortable detox reactions in their tracks! Be careful, as this is an advanced detox technique and should only be performed after making sure you can tolerate plain water enemas. Some people can experience electrolyte imbalance with too many coffee enemas. Minerals and binders can be your best friend! For those of you who are veterans, adding Hydroxygen drops to your coffee solution can take your coffee enemas to a whole new level! Start with one drop and gradually build up to ten.

Lyme is known as the great mimicker, body as it has many vast and vague symptoms that often mimic other conditions. This disease is one of the fastest growing but least recognized chronic illnesses in the United States, growing by more than 300,000 new cases every year in the US alone! Less than half of people experience the classic bull’s-eye rash associated with Lyme disease, and many people do not even remember being bit. Testing is notoriously inaccurate, so most pract...itioners rely on symptoms that end up improving when Lyme remedies are utilized. Symptoms associated with Lyme disease include persistent flu-like symptoms that are not the flu, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, aching or stuff joints, heart palpitations, headaches, vertigo, brain fog, inability to concentrate, neurological issues facial paralysis ( Bell’s palsy), seizures, numbness and tingling (neuropathy), emotional problems like mood swings and Lyme rage. Symptoms become more severe the longer Lyme goes untreated. The onset of Lyme symptoms can be days to weeks after the bite, and it is mostly transmitted by ticks but there is some emerging evidence it is transmitted by other biting insects. The bacteria that causes Lyme (Borrelia) is rarely every transmitted alone. Co-infections like Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichia, etc. make Lyme much more dangerous and likely to overwhelm the body. Lyme disease is only able to colonize in a body with a weak immune system. If you smoke, drink excessively, are chronically under stress from your job or family life, or don’t drink enough water, you are putting yourself at increased risk. Nutrient deficiencies from poor diets can also play a role, for example copper is a critical antibacterial element in the body that may be lacking in your diet. Taking care of your body, eating right, and utilizing adaptogenic herbs to boost the immune system like rhodiola, ashwagandha, schizandra, or medicine mushrooms like cordyceps and reishi may all help your body be more resistant to Lyme disease. Later this week, we will go more in depth into about the most common co-infections of Lyme, as well as the relationship between chronic Lyme and mold exposure. See more

Generally, the understanding of how to address parasites by the average medical practitioner, does not extend beyond using strong antiparasitic drugs such as ivermectin, flagyl, or albendazole. While there is a time and a place for these pharmaceutical interventions, the general public would be much better served if modern medicine ackloweged how to first assist the body in addressing the parasitic infections on their own before going after the big guns. The first thing to ad...dress before beginning a parasite protocol are your detox and drainage pathways. This means bowels are moving daily liver and bile production are working and that the lymphatic system is flowing. Doing this can help prevent uncomfortable detox and die-off reactions during parasite cleansing, especially when using highly effective and powerful remedies like CellCore's products. Even if you choose to go the pharmaceutical route, you will thank yourself later for opening drainage and detox first and foremost! Once you are ready to start hitting the parasites, using a combination of Para 1 and Para 2/3 by CellCore is a great place to start. The Full Moon kit has everything you need to get started. It may be necessary to rotate antiparasitics so the critters do not get used to them. In addition to Para 1, 2, & 3, A-P by Byron White, Morinda by Supreme Nutritionals, and Vermicyde are other effective antiparasitics. In addition to detoxification organ support and herbal antiparasitics, having the right binders on board can make your parasite cleanse run a lot smoother. CellCore's BioToxin Binder is fantastic for mopping up the waste products from microbial die-off, while HM-ET Binder can help bind heavy metals that may be released in the process of parasites dying . . . #functionalmedicine #lymedisease #Lymewarrior #lyme #parasite #optimalhealth #detox #detoxing #heavymetals #guthealth #guthealthmatters #allergies #foodallergies #autoimmunedisease #autoimmuneprotocol #redefiningwellnesscenter #healthylifestyle #health #wellness #acupuncture #sauna #drjabanmoore #autismawareness #autismspeaks

As we have discovered, parasites are much more common than most people realize, and usually, they're not alone. While a parasitic infection on it's own can be quite gruesome, when you add other infections like Lyme + co-infections, retroviruses, and mold, disastrous chronic illness is bound to ensue. Parasites change the terrain of the immune system, favoring the activation of viruses while the immune system is busy activating the branch that fights off parasites. Parasites ...stimulate Th2 (parasites) immunity, which lowers the Th1 (other microbes) capacity meaning that viruses are not being kept in check while the body uses all of its resources to address parasites. When Th2 is high, viruses can replicate freely. Viruses are able to hide INSIDE of certain parasites, causing them to be even more pathogenic. Parasitic worms, or helminths, are actually able to reactivate dormant herpes-like viruses. Lyme & co-infections can create complications with parasites as well. According to Dr. Jay Davidon, Borrelia can actually hide INSIDE parasites, making the bacteria impossible to kill with antibacterial means. Parasites are a factor to investigate in chronic, unresolvable Lyme disease. Protozoan parasites like Babesia can be transmitted with Borrelia during tick bite or potentially other insects too. Mold and mycotoxins also stimulate Th2 immunity, so when you have both present, the body can struggle even harder to balance Th1 immunity so it can still keep bacteria, viruses, and other microbes in check. Luckily, there are natural ways to address all of these things, which we will go into in further posts! . . . #functionalmedicine #lymedisease #Lymewarrior #lyme #parasite #optimalhealth #detox #detoxing #heavymetals #guthealth #guthealthmatters #allergies #foodallergies #autoimmunedisease #autoimmuneprotocol #redefiningwellnesscenter #healthylifestyle #health #wellness #acupuncture #sauna #drjabanmoore #autismawareness #autismspeaks
