As the owner of Forged By Fire, let me clear up some untrue information. Is it true Forged By Fire cancelled a local Cornhole Groups competition at The Uptown Event Center? No, The Uptown Event Center is a different business than Forged By Fire. Same owner, yes. I was contacted about a competitor of last weekends events testing positive for Covid because that competitor listed my business and event center in his post. The symptoms of this positive test, started on a date tha...t meant the subject was NOT contagious while he was at either of my facilities. Unfortunately this information came well after the initial call to close the event space because it was an indoor function and Forged By Fire was a outdoor function. Prior to learning of the approval to stay open, the local Cornhole Group leader threw a fit and stated they were done for good at my place. At that point all future dates were terminated between the two parties and not just this weekend all by that individual. They were getting a great deal to use our facility to bring local and out of town competitors to Harrisonville. This was mostly at a cost of my event space losing business from Covid. I take my business serious and the health of my patrons and the amazing couple getting married next week to have a clean and germ free event space for the last wedding as of now. Also I was going to pay this group and give them a place to play, for free and make my money for now in food and drinks after this wedding. I was also going to have pool tables and games for their kids while they were playing Cornhole. Something great for the community to bring people together. Sometimes partnerships don’t work, sometimes these can be blessings. But in the end I consider Covid a logical threat and is why I have had to temporarily close my restaurant Forged By Fire. For those that have called me and asked why I did this to this group and after I explained the truth were very happy because I have the public’s best interest in mind, and I only cancelled this week, not permanently. Thank you for reaching out. Sooner this bug is gone I can reopen my dream. Attached is a letter from the health department if you have had any contact with the individual or suspect you being an asymptomatic carrier. Please get tested. Happy Friday friends! Tonight we will have our boiled shrimp as usual, however, we are out of several menu items. Steaks, baked potatoes, and slaw, and we will not be taking anymore to go orders. Join us for dinner on one of our last Friday nights for awhile. As always, be kind!
