Excellent article in the Ladue News about how Friendship Village residents thrive!
Stan has definitely figured out some of the contours of our putting green at Sunset Hills. The winding rolls of the surface make it a little more challenge (like a real putting green), but practice makes perfect...keep up the great work, Stan!
We had a GREAT turnout at last week's Activity Fair! Our residents are passionate about their hobbies and interests and love to pursue them and make new friends, too! Thanks so much for everyone who came out to share their passions for the great things they do. This kind of commitment does so much to make the Friendship Village community life so great!
Read the new, wonderful St. Louis Business Journal story about Carmen Fronczak being recently named the Executive Director of Friendship Village Chesterfield! Congratulations, Carmen!
Your eyes aren't deceiving you...we're getting snow...on April 20th!
Living in a community that functions and feels like a home is one of the many things Friendship Village Memory Care strives for! We have plenty of staff to see to all needs of anyone at Friendship Village, but giving everyone a chance to contribute to their community and strengthen the bonds between residents is a goal we pursue every day! Last week, residents were invited (but certainly not required to) take part in jobs within their home for a meal and we loved seeing them... enjoy a sense of purpose and pride! From washing veggies, to peeling, cutting, setting the tables, and taking items to the dining area, the residents played a key part in lunch prep and service! Each resident who wanted to participate, based on their strengths, was invited to help with a task. After lunch, the residents helped to clear tables and plates and clean up around the dining area. In promoting a sense of equality, inclusion and dignity, it's wonderful to see folks roll up their sleeves, enjoy a meal with friends and their lives together with a sense of purpose and accomplishment! It was a great day!
The new Therapy Gym is up and running in the new Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Building at Friendship Village Sunset Hills and we couldn't be happier! The wide-open space and state-of-the-art therapy equipment are helping our residents get better and stronger, faster!
Our wonderful, new Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Building is open and folks are moving in! It's such a fantastic facility and we're thrilled to be putting it to use to provide the kind of superb care which makes us so proud at Friendship Village!
Our staff is constantly receiving training to keep everyone safe! A CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) refresher course for our security officers is just one part of what Friendship Village does to provide the very best for everyone here!
Learning the fine art of creating something from stained glass takes time, patience and precision...and our residents are up for the challenge! Take a look at some of their handiwork while doing some beautiful work in the Creative Arts Studio here in Sunset Hills!
We're looking forward to 2021 being a fantastic year! Happy New Year, everyone!
Take a look at the great COVID vaccinations story KMOV News Channel 4 did while at Friendship Village Sunset Hills Monday! We're so excited the Moderna COVID vaccine is here and Skilled Nursing Residents, Skilled Nursing staff and other staff members of Friendship Village Sunset Hills were able to get the first of the two doses Monday! We anticipate those getting the vaccine will get a second dose in 28 days. All those getting the vaccine have volunteered and no one is requir...ed to get vaccinated. We are hopeful that residents in Assisted Living and Independent Living will be slated to receive their first dose of the vaccine in mid-January, but there is no exact date established as of yet. The same process begins Tuesday at Friendship Village Chesterfield and we are excited for that event as well!
Old Glory was showing its age a little bit on the Friendship Village Sunset Hills campus and Terry Walsh talks a little about the process of exchanging the flags, how to properly retire them and raises a new flag!
It's always nice to see deer wandering around and enjoying our campus as much as we do
Two of our residents, Trula and Lorraine, have celebrated truly exceptional birthdays this month! Trula turned 105 and Lorraine turned 101! We're so blessed to get to celebrate these wonderful milestones with them and be part of their lives! Happy birthday, ladies, and here's to many many more!... FYI, Trula has a tan sweater vest on in several photos and Lorraine has a blue shawl around her shoulders in several of her photos.

Some of our residents took a trip to see some giant pun'kins, pet some critters and enjoy the great fall weather at Suson Park Farm! Thanks again to the folks at the farm for having us and we look forward to the next trip!

We had such a great time on our voyage aboard the Hakuna Matata as we cruised the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers! Thirty residents and two staff members boarded in St. Charles and headed to Grafton, Illinois, enjoyed lunch and the gorgeous weather for the day. There was plenty of room to safely spread out, enjoy the sunshine and catch up with friends! It was a really special day and we're looking forward to the next adventure!
Great Day St. Louis spent the day with us and put together a great piece for KMOV Channel 4! Click the link below to see their video. We think it turned out great!
As you probably know, volunteering is a great way to help others AND it feels GREAT because it nurtures your spirit, which enriches and IMPROVES your health! During these challenging times with COVID, there are still some GREAT ways to help out...safely and even VIRTUALLY! Take a look at this quick read for some great ideas!
