Ear care is an important part of pet ownership! We recommend cleaning your pet's ears every 2-4 weeks and after any swimming or bathing. Don't know how to clean your pet's ears? Luckily, one of our RVT's was able to demonstrate the process on our Youtube Channel. Click the link to watch: https://bit.ly/3tXnmcx
Happy April! This month is Heartworm Awareness Month, however, heartworm disease is a serious canine and feline health concern year-round. As our senior pet specials are coming to a close at the end of January, we wanted to introduce you to one last senior kiddo! This is Rhasta, Dr. Kurucz’s 17-year-old cat. Rhasta is a sweet boy who enjoys his daily half-and-half and a nice cozy spot by the fire. As your pet gets older, their ease of mobility may decrease, so ensuring they have a soft bed or even a heating pad to sleep on will make sure they are as comfortable as possible. Meet one of Galloway Village Veterinary’s lovely senior patients, Sassy, an 11-year-old Shetland Sheepdog. Sassy did great during her Well-Pet Ultrasound on Wednesday! One of the advantages of ultrasound is that it offers a real time look at internal organs and requires no anesthesia. Our Well-Pet Ultrasound discount is still available through the month of January. Our Staff Highlight of the Week goes to our Head Receptionist, Payton Johnson! Payton has been working with Galloway Village Veterinary for the past year, although it feels like she has been here forever. She always comes to work with a smile and a positive attitude, ready to take on the events of the day! Thank you, Payton, for your hard work and dedication. Today we are appreciating our resident 14-year-old cat, Baby! As Baby is a senior cat, he has developed arthritis in his joints and isn’t able to run around as easily as he used to. A few drops of CBD oil every day has dramatically helped Baby’s arthritis and pain management. If you notice your older pet is struggling with arthritis, ask us if CBD oil could help ease their pain.
