Dear friends from Argentine tango class: As we enter a second, more aggressive, wave of covid-19 I am plagued by uncertainty. How do I keep my family, myself and my students safe and still operate? How do I justify closing down the studio when there were only a few hundred cases a day confirmed only to open it again when there are over 40,000 daily? We are in the close contact business. We embrace. We share space. Air. We revel in it. How do I navigate this virus and not end...anger the ones that I care about? I do not have an answer for you. I can require masks. Done. I can require hand washing before entry. Done I can do temp checks at the door. Done I still can not justify cramming my favorite humans shoulder to shoulder together to hear my rants and bad jokes with the very real possibility of hurting one or all of us.
