Special thanks to Janet and Linda Stuckmeyer for their support and encouragement of our school's garden. Third graders helped clear the garden of rocks and debris. They learned about creating a plan, setting up rows and stake labels to identify plant, and learned about using garden tools safely. Then they planted 3 types of lettuce for use in our lunch program. They were also able to settle a seed potato in place to grow white potatoes! Field Day 2021 was a great success full of teamwork and fun! Instead of being within our Faith Families, each grade stayed within their own classes and held friendly competitions throughout the day. We started out with an all school devotion and message from Mr. Eggold and then began our tradition of building can castles with canned goods to donate to those in need. Students tested their creativity with designs ( Can you spot the mask with a cross, the castle , the tall...est, the cross, and the number 3 by our JK3 class?). From relay races with bean bags, pizza boxes, and sponges with water, to soccer , junk in the trunk, bottle flip, washers, and cornhole the students and teachers didn’t miss an opportunity for fun and even had time for a break to snack on giant soft pretzels and make signs to cheer on their fellow students. Join us as we continue recognizing and bidding farewell to each of our 8th grade students. Our next student to recognize is Lindsey. Lindsey has also been part of the Green Park family since Kindergarten. Lindsey's favorite memories of her time at Green Park are when the 8th grade won the 8th grade vs staff volleyball game and when 8th grade dressed up as Chik-fil-A workers for "pick your own theme" day during National Lutheran Schools Week. Her advice to next year's 8th gr...ade class is to "Stay in contact with your friends even if they are going to a different high school". She plans to attend Mehlville High School next year and has plans to be an EMT in the future. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13, but here is a selected section: "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Blessings on everything you do!
