Fort Osage is pleased to be able to offer our community free food boxes on Saturday, October 24th from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at Osage Trail Middle School. Anyone is welcome to come and pick up a 22 pound box that will contain assorted fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein items along with a gallon of milk. This event will be a contactless pick up. We ask that cars be ready to open their trunk or backseat and a volunteer will place the items in your vehicle for you. Please plan to follow the signs and traffic cones in place.
Information from Dr. Jason Snodgrass, Superintendent of Schools, regarding 2nd semester learning options for families can be found at https://www.fortosage.net/Domain/216
This year the Fort Osage School District will not be required to make up days in which school buildings are closed due to sudden, unexpected short-term closures such as utility outages or inclement weather. Instead the District will implement an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Plan on these days. When there is a short-term closure such as inclement weather, families will receive communication from the District letting them know we will be implementing the AMI p...lan. This will be followed by specific instructions from your child’s teachers about the classwork/projects/activities to complete on that day. Elementary students (PreK-6) will utilize the FOSD Literacy-Math-Create choice board at https://sites.google.com/fort/fort-osage-home-learning/home or access it via SeeSaw. Your child will need to select and complete one or more activities from each of the three areas. Secondary students (grades 7-12) will receive their assignments through their teachers’ Google Classrooms. Students will be held accountable for completing assigned work. Teachers will check for understanding in a variety of ways including collecting the lessons and activities the next day of attendance, having students submit them electronically, or checking the log of electronic/web-based/app activities for completion. Since we are able to utilize the AMI plan to make up any days missed, the last day of school will be Wednesday, May 26. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher or school principal.
