Happy Thursday everyone. Hope everyone is staying well and appreciating the little things, I know we are definitely appreciating the little things and are missing our clients. Well little man and I stopped by the salon today and Mr. Bear has been at it again. He drew a picture a self-portrait to be exact. We are loving the name suggestions keep them coming and we will pick one soon. As we see with everything going on right now there are lots of people who are unable to have ...any visitors whatsoever. Even if we have completely been quarantined still many places will not allow you to see a loved one. Which is the best thing, but so hard for both parties. There's so many people out there that are dealing with an illness or compromised immune systems or in nursing homes that would love to have the social interaction and need it the most right now but they are unable to. Mr. Bear is asking anyone who will, kids, adults whoever to draw or color a picture. Maybe include the age first name and a little note. The salon on nice days will have a Rubbermaid container with a slot cut out of it. If you will place the picture or pictures in a ziplock bag and then you can just drop it into the slot that way no one is touching anything. We will then leave the pictures in their bags for a safe amount of time before delivering to individuals or nursing homes for those in need have a little love and inspiration during this time. We caught Mr Bear out and about today. He all of a sudden thinks he's the boss Well as far as we are concerned he is as we are closed to covid 19 for your safety and ours. We already miss our salon family (clients) and we look forward to seeing you soon. Love and praying for everyone. In the meantime Mr. Bear will be watching out for all of us.... We were so busy yesterday with it being Good Friday, we completely ran out of time for Fresh Look Friday!!! So, we are going to reward one person with a $25 gift card to use on a service of their choice!!! Now we have the second video of setting the style, giving her the ability to wear her hair for a couple more days. This style will work particularly well for those who struggle with wanting to shampoo every day. Dry shampoo and the Paul Mitchell boomerang spray will be your friend!

We are going to post the final product of fresh look friday in a series of videos. I can't post all the videos together but we want you to see the step-by-step process. the 1st video below is kennedy dropping her braids section by section. This will help to keep the curl pattern in tact.

We are starting this week's Fresh Look Friday a day early!! We had a request last week to show different hairstyles for different hair textures. I have also had several requests for teaching how to French braid. So today we are showing a double French braid on Kennedy's hair and tomorrow's will be the style of her taking the braids down. Kennedys hair is naturally wavy and frizzy, so the braids will help give her a more even texture. One thing I didn't mention in the video, is that we dried her hair prior to braiding because braiding wet hair can cause breakage. When the hair is wet it is swollen, so if you braid it while it's wet the cuticle shrinks and the braid tightens the hair causing breakage where the hair crosses over one another. This is also why you should avoid leaving hair in braids after swimming.
