Springtime Pale Ale, the newest beer in the "Missouri Loves Company" series a joint initiative among 28 breweries across the state of Missouri will be available starting tomorrow, April 21 at select locations, including the Bierhalle at KC Bier Co. We will have limited quantities of 6-packs available during regular business hours; no online sales and no draft beer, so no growler fills. All proceeds benefit the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild, who works to advocate, protect and promote the interests of Missouri's independent craft brewers. Details in the link below.

We love to support local charities, which is why we're proud to be a participant in the Hop to Hops passport program! You’ve been patient, and the day has finally arrived: Boat Parade, our collaboration *beer* with Cigar City Brewing, releases today exclusively in the Bierhalle starting at 3:00 pm! Our first-ever beer using ingredients other than water, yeast and imported German malt and hops, this imperial stout has several ingredients forbidden by the Reinheitsgebot (German Beer Purity Law of 1516) the guiding principle at the very core of our brewery including unmalted barley, oats, v...anilla beans and cacao nibs. At 12.5% ABV and 40 IBU, it’s rich, sweet, and tastes like defeat. This is a one-off brew that won't last long, so don't wait to order it! No growler fills at this time. Boat Parade is available exclusively in the Bierhalle on draft, in 4-packs to go for $12.99, and in single bottles to go for $4.00. In case you missed the backstory: when Kansas City and Tampa were set to compete in the biggest football game of the year, our head brewer set up a friendly wager with an old classmate from brewing school in Germany who is now the operations manager at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa. The bet was simple: the brewery whose team wins the game would earn the right to select a style of beer for the other brewery to brew and name the beer after the winning team’s victory. Unfortunately, we didn’t win, and while our opponents celebrated with a boat parade through downtown Tampa, our brewers got to work. This might alarm some of you, but a bet’s a bet, and we keep our word. Plus, our brewers had some fun getting in the boat spirit. In the end, beer brings people together.

Prost to #OpeningDay for the Kansas City Royals! We’d love to have you all here to root-root-root for the home team, but we’re unable to stream today’s game and that’s no joke. But if you’re in the mood for bier, brats and pretzels, we’ve got you covered.

If you've kept up with our tap list the last few months, you know we've been experimenting with making Eisbocks and we've finally arrived at the ultimate Eisbock, one we're calling König Eisbock, or "King Eisbock." A true labor of love, König Eisbock started as Carolator, a 7.4% ABV pale doppelbock lager. We transferred about 15 barrels of Carolator into a tank that that was cooled to about 23-24F so that ice crystals formed and floated to the top of the tank during the co...urse of about four weeks. When the pure ice crystals had fully separated from the bier, 8.5 barrels of unfrozen bier were transferred to another tank, leaving the solid ice behind. The partially de-watered and concentrated bier finished at 10.7% ABV and was then packaged into bottles and kegs for your enjoyment! König Eisbock will be available in bottles and on draft exclusively in the Bierhalle while supplies last beginning Tuesday, March 30. Each bottle of König Eisbock was wrapped by hand in unique Easter-colored foil tops, and will be available individually for $2.50 or in limited-edition 6-packs for $12.99.

Kellerbier releases today! Look for this unfiltered Franconian-style amber lager in 6-packs and on draft everywhere our bier is sold, which is...everywhere in Kansas City, all of Kansas and most of Missouri. Malty and slightly toasty with moderate hop bitterness and a crisp, clean finish.

Introducing Kellerbier, the first release in our new limited series. This Franconian-style unfiltered lager is our interpretation of the unprocessed rustic lagers brewed by farmers and small country breweries in northern Bavaria, where it is also called Landbier. Kellerbier is crisp and dry with malt flavors of honey and cereal grains, slight toasted malt character and moderate bitterness (5.0% ABV 26 IBU). Available in 6-packs and on draft starting March 15.

We’re not sure what happened yesterday. Today we brewed a Helles Lager with all-imported German malt and hops. We decocted it to bring out the full depth of malt character. It will be naturally carbonated by CO2 produced by Bavarian lager yeast during the next six weeks of cold lagering in our cellar. It’s fine. Everything’s fine.

NEW BIER IN THE HAUS: Meet Farmhaus, the non-dry-hopped version of Der Bauer our head brewer prefers to the OG. That’s right. Farmhaus is made with German Pilsner, wheat and rye malts to give it a bready malt body, while German-grown Perle hops add moderate bitterness (37 IBU). We condition this bier with a French saison yeast strain which lends slightly spicy fermentation notes. At 7.75% ABV it packs a punch, and finishes crisp and dry. No adjuncts or additives were used.
