Dear friends and family members, La Plata Nursing Home is now set up for indoor visits just in time for the cold season. We will still have guidelines to follow but hopefully this will be encouraging for both you as a visitor and your loved one. You must still call for a appointment and those times are M-F 10AM-3PM,M-W-F 6PM-8PM and Sat and Sun 2PM-4PM. The visits are 30 minutes. Call 660-332-4315 and ask for Ronda. Please respect these times when at all possible. Two people ...may visit at one time and no one under the age of 18. You have to report to the front door have your temperature taken be asked a few signs and symptoms questions then sanitize your hands and put on a mask or face shield. If you are running a temp or have unexplained symptoms you will not be allowed to visit. You will be separated from the resident by six feet and a plastic barrier. There will still be no touching. This could change at anytime if your loved one has been tested and confirmed as having COVID-19. They will be isolated for 14 days and after that a visit can resume. If your loved one is bed bound or in the dying process you will be able to visit in their room but you will also have to wear a isolation gown gloves a mask or face shield. Please adhere to these rules. We can also ask visitors for confirmation of a negative COVID-19 test. If you do not abide by these rules you will be asked to leave and may not be able to visit again. This has been a trying time for all of us. We have made every effort to provide a safe and loving environment for your loved one. I know we are not a replacement for you. We are just thankful that someone listened to what we were all saying that our residents need their families and friends around them and created this avenue for visits. Staff has been tested weekly for 6 weeks now and with no positive cases. All residents are tested twice before we accept them as a new admission. Visits are for 30 minutes only Only 2 visitors at one time and no one under the age of 18 may visit All residents and visitors must wear a mask or face shield and maintain 6ft apart during the visits. No touching allowed. When it is your scheduled time to visit go to the front entrance and ring the door bell. Good news! La Plata Nursing Home has conducted 3 tests on the residents and 4 tests on the employees and all have returned negative. We will continue to do testing on the staff weekly at this time. We are now allowing outdoor visits as well as open window visits as long as the resident is not on isolation. An appointment for visitation is needed. Call Ronda at 6603324315 to schedule a time. Times for visitation will be from 10AM-4Pm Mon- Fri and 6PM-8PM Mon-Wed-Fri. Visitors ...must ring the front doorbell and sign in,answer questions on signs and symptoms of COVID,travel and if exposed to COVID. If you have a temperature or unexplained symptoms you will not be allowed to visit. The visits will be 30 minutes and only 2 visitors per resident along with social distancing of 6 feet and both resident and visitors must wear a mask or a face sheild. IF the above rules are not followed you will be asked to leave and not be able to come back for a visit. When the weather turns cooler the visits will be allowed in the building but not in the residents rooms. We will construct an isolation booth where visits can be made. Birthday buddies, Baylon Belt and Leland Collins have celebrated their birthdays together since Baylon was two years old. They had ice cream up until Baylon turned 21, but then decided to switch to beer! In spite of having to social distance, they had a beer together tonight, Leland is 90 and Baylon 24! Happy birthday, guys!
