In support of artists challenged by COVID performance cancellations, the Scott Joplin Ragtime Foundation (SJIRF) presents the Second Edition of Syncopated Satur...day Night November 14, 2020 at 8:15 PM (Eastern US). Carl Sonny Leyland, Frederick Hodges, and host Bryan Wright welcome you to their homes for 'live' piano performances. From Sedalia Parks and Rec: SPARC (Sedalia Parks Art as Recreation Committee) is delighted to announce an open call opportunity to commission a new public realm artwork to be sited at Hubbard Park in Sedalia, Missouri. The commission is in celebration of Hubbard Park's 100th Anniversary in 2021. Due to the musical roots of Sedalia, and specifically the area of Hubbard Park, the artwork should be musically themed. We are inviting artists to propose initial ideas in response t...o the Call for Artists. Shortlisted artists will be invited to an online interview, with one proposal selected for the approval by the Sedalia Parks and Recreation Board. Maximum Budget: $25,000 Installation Location: Hubbard Park, Sedalia MO Theme: Musical Dates to Remember: October 30, 2020: Call for Artist Submission Deadline 4:00pm November 10, 2020: Shortlisted Artists Online or In-person Interview November 20, 2020: Chosen Artist Notified November 24, 2020: Project and Artist announced publicly March 2021: SPARC Committee visits artist May 2021: Artist informs committee of needs for site preparation July 2021: SPARC Committee visits artist October 2021: Art Piece Installed.
