, ' - , . @, ' . ! "... : Patient came to the office 15 weeks pregnant. She reported that she delivered early at 32 weeks with her previous pregnancy. She wanted to get in and make sure hips and nervous system was balanced to help allow her to go full term. :The patient's goal was to maintain balance of pelvis and help reduce tension and pain through pregnancy. :The patient reported at 22 weeks she had posterior placenta previa. She was able to get an additional ultrasound three weeks from that point. In order to balance the body, patient was recommended to come in two times per week for an adjustment and acupuncture until her follow up ultrasound. At the exam following her placenta previa diagnosis, the patient showed imbalance of uterosacral ligament and round ligament being on the same side of tension indicating dysfunction. She had more tenderness in the low back and round ligament. : The patient went through adjustment and acupuncture to try to restore proper muscle and tension of the uterosacral and round ligament to help balance the pelvis. Acupuncture points were used in balance and wellness to help with this tension and dysfunction. : The patient reported earlier this month that her balance was restored, and her ultrasound results showed NO placenta previa. Everything was back on track! She also reported decreased tenderness on palpation of low back and round ligament. She is currently continuing care to help reduce tension, balance the pelvis and associated ligament balancing. She is doing great at this time. The is continuing with care to make sure balance continues within the pelvis as she gets closer to delivery. : Your pregnancy chiropractor is a vital member of your pregnancy care team. Don't wait until you are in pain to come see a pregnancy chiropractor. The patient referenced here was proactive in her prenatal care with each of her providers. This allowed for proactive exams that caught the placenta previa, allowed for an action plan to treat it, and enabled her physicians to create a care plan where she would be safely monitored her for the remainder of her pregnancy. Loehr Health Center hired Dr. Luke Van Kirk, owner of Command Family Medicine PC, as its new medical director. Van Kirk oversees patient care and offers an alternative option for surgery: regenerative medicine pain management treatments including prolotherapy and platelet-rich plasma injections, according to a news release. , , . Chiropractic adjustments are a drug-free approach to alleviating muscle pain and discomfort for pregnant women. Many women seek the help of a chiropractor utilizing the Webster technique to balance the pelvis and reduce undue stress on the uterus and supporting ligaments. This technique has been shown clinically to allow for optimal fetal positioning. Dr. Jordan Abercrombie shares a story below about how one ...pregnant patient had her pain reduced and range of motion increased in one treatment! We would love to help her feel her best during her pregnancy. -------------------------------->>>>> PATIENT PROFILE: 30 year-old pregnant female PATIENT CONCERN: The patient was 40 weeks and 3 days along. She was referred to our clinic by her midwife. The midwife stated patient was baby was not dropping. EXAM FINDINGS: The patient reported she had been experiencing low back pain throughout her pregnancy with minimal relief. She also reported the inability to lift her legs without extreme pelvic pain. A physical exam including palpation and Webster were used to access her musculoskeletal condition. The ligament tension was also assessed and relieved with sustained pressure. TREATMENT PLAN: The patient was recommended to get heat and electrical stimulation to help relieve muscle tension. She was then adjusted in areas of decreased motion including the pelvis, low back and other areas of spine to relieve overall tension and balance the nervous system. RESULTS: Following her first treatment, the patient stood up and was asked to move around to see how she felt. She reported immediate relief following getting adjusted and receiving therapy. She was also able to raise her knees without pain. The patient stated, I haven’t felt this good through this entire pregnancy. To help her maintain this progress, I recommended to come back in the following Monday for an adjustment and acupuncture.
