A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported this evening’s fish fry by purchasing meals and/or making donations! We sold over and above our goal and are most grateful! Chef Eric Vails Sr., WOW! DELICIOUS!!! Special thanks to our team of volunteers, all our students and alumni and all our parents/alumni parents for keeping the kitchen flowing. To all faculty/staff that sent emails marketing the event, recruited volunteers and/or showed up to work/support, thanks so much! Team Loyola Always!

Today was Fun with Dry Ice Day in Loyola’s 8th grade Science class, or more formally, a lab Investigating Changes of State. It’s always a favorite, and we missed out on it while meeting virtually last quarter - so it was nice to be able to jump back to it.

Even if it’s just two days a week, it’s been great to see our young men back in the building. You may not be able to see it - but they’re smiling behind those masks too!

Loyola's Hiking Club was lucky to have some amazing November weather today for our trip to hike the Goat Cliff Trail at Pere Marquette State Park (a park that happens to be named after a Jesuit).

Last Friday the Loyola Hiking club was able to take to groups of students to hike the River Scene trail at Castlewood State Park. With the leaves starting to change colors, the views along the river bluffs were even more beautiful. The two groups traveled masked in separate vans, and each traveled the loop trail in opposite directions - coming together just long enough for a group picture at one of the overlooks.

During these challenging times, we are glad that the Loyola Hiking Club has been able to take small groups of students to explore some trails around our region. Two weeks ago we hiked the White Bison Trail at Lone Elk Park in Valley Park. Our hikers were amazed to see numerous elk and deer at close range! Friday we travelled to the Olin Nature Preserve in Godfrey, Illinois. There we hiked the Beaver Trail down to Beaver Falls. though there is not much water currently flowing over the falls, the boys enjoyed hiking along the creek, a monument to the Underground Railroad, the Mississippi River overlook, and even seeing a deer less than 50 feet away!
