NORMALIZE LONGER HAIR APPOINTMENTS Hey guys! It’s your friendly neighborhood hairstylist here to talk about a topic I’ve been seeing on a few of my stylist foru...ms that I wanted to touch base on. If you have a blonding appointment with me, or a corrective color appointment, which is what I mostly do; please anticipate that you’re going to be spending a few hours with me! In today’s world of multi dimensional Pinterest hair, a lot of us aren’t doing things that used to be done back in the day. Cap highlights, hell, even normal highlights are beginning to be a thing of the past. And as our styles change, so do our techniques! A lot of what people are wanting done nowadays; 80% of the time will not be a 2.5 hour appointment. I find this is what separates me from a lot of people. And the thing is, I’m not slow! At first I thought I might be doing something wrong because I don’t get people in and out. Turns out, I’m normal! Beautiful, healthy hair takes TIME. Time to apply, time to process to the color I need it so it’s not orange and brassy, and time to style and even take pictures if i can. If you want a shadow root or colormelt, you can tack some more time on there! Lol For reference, these foils and open air painting took me about an hour and a half to put in. On fine hair. Protect those in the service industry so we may continue to provide SAFELY. Edit: for clarity, this woman refused to wear her mask and berated and harassed a stylist for refusing her service after telling her to wear a mask.
