To our Jewish friends, have a good Passover.

Clarence E. Gideon sent a paper and pencil petition to the US Supreme Court stating his right to counsel had been violated. He was too poor to defend himself. Gideon v. Wainwright. He won.

This case created the public defender system to protect our right to counsel.

To our Jewish friends,

"December 7, 1941 a date which will live in infamy," President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Just before 8 am on Sunday, December 7, 1941, the Japanese made a surprise raid on Pearl Harbor, the major U.S. Navy base near Honolulu, killing more than 2,400 Americans and left another 1,100 injured. The strike signaled the entry of the United States into World War II.
