2 0 2 0 R e f l e c t i o n As we begin to wrap up the last few weeks of 2020, I find myself in a state of reflection. Like most, I set an optimistic string of goals, both personal and business for the year. I honestly can’t even remember what those goals were at this point. lol Maybe I jotted them down on a post it note somewhere... I’ll admit my personality is glass half full, put your poker face on and throw in a little sarcasm. This year tested that. In February the ...word Covid was becoming part of our everyday conversation. By March, it was a reality. On March 20th myself and the barbers decided the word Covid was closing in on us. We were overwhelmed. We made the decision as a team to lock the doors and regroup. Little did we know the state of Missouri would place us all under a stay at home order a couple days later. You want to talk about shook. I CRIED for myself, my business, the fear of the unknown, my employees, for my children who were pulled from their classrooms, for those who were being effected by the disease and for small business owners everywhere. During those 6 weeks of being shut down I made a plan for reopening. We came back on May the 4th ready to roll. My new goal for 2020 was called SHIFT. Have a plan and be ready and willing to shift when need be. As most of you have noticed.. the key part of our plan.. was to do everything we could to keep each other safe. (Including our guests) Since May 4th, when the stay at home was lifted, M.Boss has given over 4,000 haircuts!! And safely. Masks and face shields and Lysol and disinfecting chairs and air purifiers and plexi glass.. We shifted. I am so damn proud of my team. Entering into the holiday season I can’t help but to feel so thankful and blessed. We have had so much encouragement from our community and our guests through this pandemic. I just want to say, thank you! Be kind to each other. Wear your mask. And count your blessings big or small. Cheers with that glass half full beer, Boss Lady
