This is an estimate/repair plan I am working on for a vehicle that was towed in to the shop. I already have 28 estimate lines (and counting) BEFORE I have added in any of the vehicle damages. The estimate lines I have added are related to various after collision checks, inspections, and calibrations that will need to be done to this vehicle due to the damages it has.
https://www.bodyshopbusiness.com/vehicle-total-loss-settle/ This is a good read for consumers dealing with a total loss.
Don't send that Ford home today unless you've read the new ADAS job aid. EVERY collision regardless of area of impact.
This 2020 Tundra was released to a salvage yard today. My journey with this truck began in March as a ‘walk in’ for a bedside replacement due to an accident th...e owner caused. Once the truck was in the shop, the bed was removed and deformation in the frame/axle alignment was noticed. The owner was called in, we inspected the damage together and came to the conclusion the frame would need to be replaced. The amount of time/money involved, should have made this truck a total loss. HIS OWN INSURANCE COMPANY came to our shop, inspected the truck, and deemed their own ‘select’ shop could repair it for 20% of the cost of my estimated repairs. He was told to cover the ~$25,000 difference, or have the truck moved to their ‘select’ shop. Fast forward 2 months: He received no communication, only 4 automated text messages informing him that yet again, his repairs had been delayed. Once he finally was able to pick up his vehicle, he immediately brought it to me for an inspection, as obviously there must have been some major differences. With the help of colleagues in the industry, we built a report proving that not only were the incorrect parts installed, but no Toyota guidelines were followed, and no safety inspections had been followed. His own insurance company of over 40 years agreed the frame was damaged, but the ‘select’ shop did not, and made no effort to inspect it. Both parties led him to believe he would be picking up a safe and whole truck. Fortunately, we were able to help resolve this. He is now in a new, safe ride, and this truck is headed to the salvage yard where it belongs. HUGE shout out to those that helped along the way.
We will be closing at noon today for New Year's Eve. Happy New Year! Looking forward to serving our customers in 2022.
We are closed today. We hope all of our customers, employees, friends, and family have a wonderful Christmas!
McKinley's Body Shop will be closed tomorrow (Christmas Eve). Have a Merry Christmas!
Accenture recently surveyed 25,000 customers. While insurers think COVID cleaning expenses are over, the market disagrees. 63% said it’s crucial that companie...s/brands actively promote healthy practices. Our best tool and most requested by customers for repeat treatment is Tri0xyclean. They love how it treats the whole car and removes odor. Explaining how it cleans the air vents and all the places we can't wipe really impresses them. Watch this video on how we use it: https://youtu.be/6zvX-mLHZAA
We will be closed November 25th and 26th for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!
2021 Chevy Spark before and after: Vehicle was repaired with all new OEM parts. All of GM's required after collision inspections were completed and vehicle was sent to a GM dealership after the repair process for all necessary calibrations.
2004 GMC pickup before and a couple of afters: (Truck was repaired with all brand new GM parts)
Insurance companies, other shops, and even some potential customers love to tell us how extreme and unnecessary after collision SRS inspections are. I have literally been laughed at by insurance adjusters for putting down on our estimates to check the items we check. Here is some hidden damage we found while doing SRS inspections on a vehicle currently in the shop (to airbag mounting points)
This vehicle's manufacturer requires that the steering column be pulled, measured, and checked for collapse after a collision. After collision SRS inspections are developed by the manufacturer of your vehicle and are an important part of the repair process.
2018 Honda Civic before and after:
Here are a couple of after pictures of a Dodge we finished up recently: Repairs were done down the entire side of the truck, we replaced the bedside, the rear door, bumpers, and various other parts.
This vehicle was brought into the shop recently for some minor work. The customer had previously had the vehicle repaired at a high volume insurance direct repair shop in Springfield. After taking the vehicle apart for our repair we found damage that had been left/not fixed, knock off parts had been used during the repair, and tape lines galore. The vehicle looked pretty good from the outside. This is tragic, but unfortunately we see this all the time.
Hail season is upon us! Just want to throw a couple things out there: We have had many hail/PDR companies approach us over the years wanting to "partner up". We never agreed to work with them because after visiting with them for a little bit it was always clear they weren't doing things correctly and according to the vehicle manufacturer's procedures. Last year we started working with Hail Strategies out of the Saint Louis area. They do great work and follow oem procedures. I hope we don't get any bad weather, but if we do you can rest assured knowing your vehicle will be repaired properly if you bring it to us.
Hail season is here. Remember the professionals at Hail Strategies Auto Hail Repair work for you and not the insurance. We have your best interest when it com...es to safe and quality repairs unlike your insurer who wants cheap and doesnt understand safety. Vehicles are not built the same as they once were and its time to start realizing the change. #paintlessdentrepair #hailrepair #pdr #nopainting #saferepairsonly #qualityoverquantity #franklincountymo #gluepull #hailyeah
