This year, we’ve asked our Jr and Teen/Adult students to set dance related or personal goals! It’s great to have attainable goals, plans, and timelines written down to keep you focused. Here’s dancer Annaleigh telling us a little about her tap goals for the dance year!

Teacher Tuesday! Every Tuesday we’re going to spotlight an Instructor. This week, meet Ms. Michelle! She teaches Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Classes!... When asked what she loves about teaching, she said: The time I get to spend with my students. Working with them to help them grow in confidence while they learn and master dance skills! Having positive & encouraging social connections - I hope to encourage them as much as they encourage me! Watching them have those magical, "light bulb" moments when something just clicks - when they persevere and push through a difficult moment! Seeing them express themselves through their unique gifts and talents.

Every month we are working on preparing our students for the stage - at the dance concert & in life! These are skills we are working on with every class to help our students to be well-rounded and prepared!

Fifth Position Croisé (meaning crossed). Fifth position is a staple in any ballet class! It can be done with either the right or left foot in front. The heel of the foot in front should be touching the big toe of the foot in back. It’s used in our first combination of pliés at the barre, and it’s used in turns from Fifth. Plus many others steps originate from Fifth!
