Oak Grove Saddle Club

We want to thank everyone for the great turnout we had Saturday. The weather could not have been better. It was a great way to end such a unique season. We appreciate everyone who came out to help. We can not do it without the help of everyone. We will be updating the page and sending out an email late this year, early next year with the information about the year beginning meeting. ... Some of the things we will be discussing: Changing the start time for different shows depending on the weather (please comment below if you liked the show starting a little earlier as the weather changes) Election of officers - We have a lot of positions to fill and we need people willing to come out and help. We are willing to consider co-officers for some of the positions if you aren't able to commit to every show but you have a friend willing to work with you. We elect the following positions: President Vice - President Secretary Treasurer Cook Shack If you have any questions about any of the positions, you can reach out to us via messenger or email us [email protected] or you can text Paula at 816-872-8450 We will discuss the show dates for the 2021 season Membership / High Point program for 2021 / 2022 Anything else you would like to discuss at the meeting, we are open to hearing your thoughts and ideas. We look forward to seeing everyone, the dates will be announced and everyone who signed a membership form or a hold harmless this year and included their email address will also receive an email. Don't forget....fun show this Saturday! It is the last one of the season. We know this hasn't been the best year because of everything happening so come on out and enjoy one last show! As a reminder, the show is starting at 2pm.....NOT 5pm, we want to take advantage of the daylight. Registration will open at 12:30pm. We are looking for volunteers.....We need people to help with:... Wanted to remind everyone we have one last fun show this year! It's this Saturday! We are starting early to make sure we have daylight and some warmth. It's gonna be a nice week all week so come on out and join us Saturday!

It looks like this weekend is going to happen! The weather seems good. No rain in the forecast. Looking forward to a nice evening! We do need some help though and would love some volunteers. We need announcers, people to help us set up events, gates, ribbons, the cook shack. Anywhere you would like to help, the help would be appreciated. Remember registration starts at 3:30pm, the show will start at 5pm. Once registration is closed, you will not be able to enter any ...events. Masks are required when social distancing can not take place. Come out and have some fun!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some information about the Saddle Club. This coming year is an election year and we have lost some officers so there are definite spots available. We want to get a temperature of the members to see if anyone is interested in running for a position. As some of you may recall, we were in a similar position two years ago and almost had to disband the club because we didn’t have enough people wanting to get involved. We know the last two yea...rs have been rough with weather and pandemics, but I know most of you also know the good years, where we didn’t have crazy stuff affecting us. We just want to know if we have people willing to step up and run for positions. It is a 2 year commitment, so it would be for 2021/2022 season Here are the five officer positions to be filled: President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Cook Shack (you will need a food handlers permit, we can help you with that) These are the five positions but it doesn’t mean we need five new people. You are welcome to run for any of the positions if you feel like it would be a good fit for you. Please leave a comment or send us a private message if you would be interested or if you have any questions about any of the positions. We don’t want to cancel the saddle club but we also need people to want to get involved. We appreciate everyone who has stepped up to volunteer this year when we COULD have an event and we will continue to need additional volunteers at the shows. This is one step past just volunteering every now and then. This is a commitment to get involved and stay involved for at least 2 years. Thank you everyone!

Well, 2020 has struck again. No chance of the arena drying up in time for a fun show tomorrow. We have to cancel the September show. Put October 17th on your calendar and plan on coming out! Enjoy your weekend.

Well we are sad to say the arena has standing water in it right now. We have enough experience with this arena to know it will not clear up by tonight so we will have to cancel the fun show. A huge thank you to Courtney Risser for being the bearer of the bad news by sharing pictures of the arena. We hate the outcome but appreciate the information. Good news, we added November so we still have 3 fun shows left for the year! We generally don’t get a lot of cancellations for... the September and October shows. The weather usually cooperates so let’s plan on having some great shows coming up. Make sure to put the dates on your calendar! September 12th October 17th November 7th

Well, We woke up to this little bit of information. We have been discussing it but as you know crazy Missouri weather, go ten miles in any direction and it is different. Anyone right in Oak Grove want to comment on how bad this rain is? As many of you know, that arena does not recover easily from heavy rain. If we need to, one of us will head out there after the rain ends to assess the arena. We just wanted some feedback from anyone close to it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Due to some of the limitations we still have on us in Jackson County / Oak Grove we have decided to have a limited cook shack again for this month. We will have water, soda, chips, candy....items not requiring actual preparation. Please plan accordingly regarding food. We ask anyone who is able to help out, please jump in and help. Remember we are a small group and the more people who help with changing of the events, gates, e...tc the smoother everything goes. Registration will be open at 3:30pm and will close at 5pm.
