Breaking ground on OmTurtle 4.0 2021 - Covid took away my baby girl (café) in Ferguson and my sweet girl in Florissant is limping along at 25% capacity but we’re not giving up! The health department calls this a Cottage Kitchen which will allow me to create limited goods like spices, oils, and butters. We sell more products than we can make in my tiny turtle kitchen in Florissant so were bringing all the café equipment back to life in the lower level of our home to build out an apothecary and recording studio. Gratitude to my hubby for always going along with (and encouraging) my dreams and shenanigans. Dedicated to my boys because I want them to see that when you love something so much you can always find a way. #nevergiveup #pivot

Today I’m thinking a lot about mom and pop shops. For example the restaurant owner who followed his father throughout childhood washing dishes, bussing tables and now has taken over the restaurant only to see it crumble underneath of him. All he’s ever known is that restaurant. What to do now? Hundreds of thousands of business owners across the country who only had one dream, one skill, one love, one passion. What to do now? Hundreds of my studio and fitness owner friends acr...oss the country are closing shop. Big businesses are folding. With absolutely no control. No end date. And then there’s the families that have been affected by the coronavirus. Some very minor, some that lost a loved one. Frontliners working every day during the most challenging year I’ve seen in the 45 years I’ve been alive. Absolutely no control. It’s Christmas time and so many families are sacrificing.
