Job Posting: Veterinary Technician or Assistant ORVC is seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. You will support our veterinarians during examinations, medical treatments/surgical procedures, running diagnostics, and provide direct care to our animal patients. Candidates must be comfortable working with a variety of animals. You should be familiar with proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques to ensure... our facility is safe for our clients. Some duties and responsibilities include: -Greet clients and obtain contact information and animal medical histories -Perform an initial evaluation of their health in an exam room -Aid our veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures -Handle basic care duties, such as cleaning and dressing wounds, administering medications, collecting samples and checking vital signs -Assist with diagnostic imaging and lab work, including blood tests and analysis of fecal and urine samples -Provide food and water to animals hospitalized and observe and document any unusual health issues -Sterilize Instruments and restock examination and operating rooms -Inform and educate clients on at home care for their pets -Update patient files and handle other administrative duties as necessary. Requirements and Qualification: Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare. Able to restrain larger pets when necessary. Passion for working with animals and their owners. Computer knowledge and must be willing to learn the clinics software and become proficient. Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Flexible schedule. While most of us get to relax in our warm houses on a "Snow day", there are many others required to work in difficult weather conditions. A BIG thank you to our farmers, lineman, MoDot, and individual snow removal workers - to name a few!! ORVC is very grateful for all your services!!

BETTY WHITE CHALLENGE - Betty White would have turned 100 on Jan. 17, 2022.The longtime actress was also an animal lover, and in her honor, many fans and animal shelters are celebrating her legacy. It's all part of what's being called the Betty White Challenge! #bettywhitechallenge As many of you know we have an established fund for helping animals in our community with life saving surgeries, vaccinations, and also finding new homes. The Allen Waterman Animal Assistance Fund received a generous donation over the weekend. A very sweet woman had a garage sale and donated 50% of her profit. Thank you so much for the donation and thank you to all who purchased from her.

This healthy bull calf was born by c-section yesterday. Both momma and baby are doing well today.
