Justin Hall, CPO LPO, recently had the pleasure of working with Connie, providing her with a custom full leg brace (KAFO- Knee Ankle Foot Orthoses). Connie has struggled with constant knee pain since the 80’s and reached out to P&O Care for a new brace that would allow her pain-free mobility. Justin has been working with her and her new brace so she can take her grandchildren out for walks once COVID-19 is over and cook her husband’s favorite dinners. Connie and her husband,... Ronnie, recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Congratulations on a life of happiness and joy! #ArchitectsOfAbilities #PersonalizedCare #NationalCaregiversMonth
November is National Family Caregiver Month. Our blog for this month highlights gratitude and the importance of those who spend their time caring for family members who struggle with chronic pain or illness who could not otherwise take care of themselves. From all of us at P&O Care, thank you for your dedication and compassion to helping our patients outside of the office. #ArchitectsofAbilities #PersonalizedCare
When you book an appointment with one of our practitioners, we promise to make you feel like you're not alone. P&O Care is always looking for ways to better serve our patients. Back in 2019, Mattel released the Barbie Fashionista line, which represents children with diverse disabilities, including limb loss. Read more about the representation children are seeing in their dolls by visiting the link below. #ArchitectsOfAbilities #PositiveOutcomes #prosthetic #diversity
For our final #PhysicalTherapyThursday, we have a great exercise from Ottobock you can do at home to stretch your back muscles. Stand about 20 inches from a wall. Place your hands on the wall at shoulder height, keeping your back straight and leaning diagonally against the wall. Extend and flex your arms as in a pushup motion 10 to 15 times. ... Repeat 3 times after short breaks of a few seconds. #ArchitectsOfAbilities #PositiveOutcomes
Meet Paul! P&O's clinical director Jon Wilson, CPO/LPO, recently had the pleasure of fitting Paul with the new Point Digit II prosthesis for people with partial hand amputation. Here is a sneak peek at Paul's new prosthesis, including him holding a pen, and a wonderful note from Paul's daughter, Rachel, thanking Jon for his knowledge and compassion in helping her father during his recovery journey. Welcome to the P&O Care family, Paul! You can read more about Paul's story here! #ArchitectsOfAbilities #PersonalizedCare
It’s #PhysicalTherapyThursday and that means we have another great exercise you can do at home, thanks to our friends over at Ottobock. This will help alleviate back pain. You will need two bottles, either 0.5 or 1 liter, for this exercise. Sitting on a chair, hold the bottles and extend your arms up to your ears. Keeping your back straight, lean your upper body forward.... Alternate raising and lowering both arms in short, rapid movements. Do this exercise 3 times for 30 seconds each time. #ArchitectsOfAbilities #PositiveOutcomes
