EDIT: the Back Porch Players will not be able to attend this year. So, no old time music or period dance. We will miss them! The Official Searchlight Band will perform Saturday evening at 7:00 on the stage. They are a local Christian Rock band. Come out and listen to them perform and stay for the night fire! Please be safe! Social distancing is recommended and wearing masks is strongly encouraged for all visitors.

I received a message asking for info. Maybe someone out there has an answer. "I am search for a Family Bible owned by a Pleasant and Lucinda Phariss who were in the 1850-60 Census Records for Dixon/Union area. I understand the Bible has been handed down through a son, Remus Pharissthrough his son, Robert Hallie Phariss and possibly his descendants. Pleasant, Remun and Robert H were all buried in the Pisgah Cemetery."

It’s been two weeks since Old Settlers Days and finally, I feel rested. I hope everyone had a fun and enjoyed the Kickapoo Trace Muzzleloaders, the Civil War reenactments, the crafters, sutlers and food! We are already planning for 2021! Be sure to watch for updates. The Historical Society could not possibly bring such an event to our area without the support of our local businesses and our volunteers.
