We are looking for a business to pour 2 concrete pads for our new AC units (Thank you to everyone who donated!) If you know anyone that can help please tag them or have them give our office a call at 417-831-7223. The dimensions will need to be 9'X5' for the first pad and 5'X5' for the second. We are looking to get this done ASAP as our new AC units are here and ready to install.

** Update** Looks like we are probably going to have to get a whole new unit due to not knowing how long the lines have been cut. The coil could be corroded if it has been longer than a few days. With this unit being a 96 model it is probably for the best anyways. So we are looking at ~$3k to replace the entire unit :-( Happy Monday...... Evidently someone was in need of some copper pipe recently. We had the copper pipes cut from our AC units. We have someone on the way to give us an estimate to replace. If anyone would like to donate to help cover the cost it would be very much appreciated. Also please check you AC units at home. This could easily happen to anyone.

The winter season brings ice and snow for many parts of the country, and for people living in these areas, ice melts are necessary to prevent accidents. While ice melt exposures in pets are not often serious, there are some things pet owners should know to minimize potential problems. Check out this topic from our friends at the ASPCA.

Stash your Halloween candy far away from your pets. Sugar is no better for cats and dogs than it is for us. Additionally, some chocolates can be toxic and even fatal, for both dogs and cats. Xylitol (an artificial sweetener found in most candies and even in some peanut butter) can be deadly for dogs even in minimal amounts.

Fall Pet Fact! Most cat and dog breeds will shed before the coldest months of the year to make way for a thicker coat, so it’s best to groom your pets regularly in the Autumn months, without brushing too much of the undercoat, to avoid a fur invasion in the colder months of the year.

We all know how important it is to Spay or Neuter your pet, but what a lot of clients do not understand is the importance of after care. We have been receiving a lot of calls from clients, a day or two after their pets surgery, stating that "My dog has always loved run 5 miles with me each morning but now they don't want to run and act like they are in pain" or "Something is wrong with my pet after their surgery, they are having a hard time jumping up on the couch or don't wa...nt to play fetch". It is very important to follow the after care guidelines that our staff go over with you at pickup. A lot of pets are good at masking pain and acting like nothing happened after surgery, but that does not change the fact that a Spay or Neuter IS a MAJOR surgery. Your pet should be kept calm for 10-14 days after surgery and short leash walks only are a few of the main instructions that we discuss with you at the time of discharge. We are always available if you do have questions or concerns after your pets surgery.
