Thank you to a longtime friend of Sheffield Place who made a Valentine’s gift box for each of the mothers. The boxes are filled with lotions, soaps, handcrafted jewelry and other thoughtful items. Thank you!

Work is progressing on the renovation of the building that will provide seven additional units of transitional housing for homeless moms and their children. New windows, hvac, and insulation were recently installed. Drywall is next! The project is scheduled to be completed at the end of the month!

Sheffield Place appreciates the generous support of ImpactKC This dedicated group of Kansas Citians recently announced a grant to assist Sheffield Place with the purchase of equipment and furniture for the new transitional living building that is currently under renovation. Sheffield Place moms and staff celebrate Red Friday today as they prepare for The Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory on Sunday. Earlier in the week a wonderful supporter provided football-themed treats. In the third photo, Derrick Nnadi Chris Jones and Alex Okafor served dinner at Sheffield Place in Nov 2019. Go Chiefs!

Today Kansas City’s Mayor Quinton Lucas took a tour of the Sheffield Neighborhood and made a stop to speak with a client and her daughter who were outside. Neighborhood stakeholders and others were invited to walk with the mayor, CEO/President Kelly Welch was a part of those invited. She was quick enough to snap a selfie with the Mayor himself.

The children recently assisted with the sweet potato harvest. They learned more about where their food comes from and how sweet potatoes grow. They also enjoyed seeing a praying mantis!

Due to a forecast of inclement weather, the 10th Annual Sheffield Place Golf Tournament scheduled for Mon, Oct 26, has been cancelled. The cancellation of the tournament doesn’t mean we can’t have an online auction! The auction is open now and will close on Wed, Oct 28 at 5 p.m. The auction features a number of select items and wine and whiskey pulls. Just text SFGolf20 to 76278 to register for the auction.

Sheffield Place is honored to receive the 2020 Unity Award from KC Mothers in Charge founder, Rosilyn Temple, last night at the virtual awards ceremony. The Unity Awards are presented to an individual and an organization who are working innovatively to solve problems in our community.
