Happy Sunny Saturday! Out first Dance Camp, The Original, begins this Monday, June 1st, from 9am-noon. ( please see closed group camp post for more info) Please send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name and a snack. We will be enjoying snack time outdoors, as long as weather permits. We will be very careful to sanitize first and then social distance while we eat. Dancers are required to bring their ballet shoes or half soles and tap shoes. Monday we will begin ou...r small groups by exploring the virtue of honesty. Thank you so much for joining us for camp and please message our public page if you still need to enroll. ATTN: We have new policies in place in order to stay within the current guidelines for Missouri businesses. One important guideline is restricting the number of people inside a business, based on occupancy. We will be within those guidelines by using drop off and pickup for now, instead of utilizing the lobby. As summer progresses, if guidelines relax or tighten, we will adjust accordingly. We will also cancel classes again, if Missouri changes guidelines in the future. Thanks for your help! NEW COVID-19 policies for studio life are as follows: 1. The lobby will be closed, but the office will be open for payments. We will use the lobby for students waiting to enter the studios. 2. Masks are allowed, but not required. 3. Hand sanitizer will now be used for the students frequently during class. Let us know at drop off if your child is not allowed to use it. 4. Please remain in your car until no more than five minutes before your class begins. Then, walk students to the front entrance for drop off. 5. After class, please remain in your car or in the parking lot until you see us bringing your children out the east side entrance or back entrance. We will walk them onto the sidewalk and you may pick them up there. We will still have to do this on rainy days, so please send jackets accordingly. 6. All water bottles must be marked with your child’s name.

Hello, dancers!!!! Miss you! In Missouri, social distancing of six feet inside businesses is in place until May 31st. Since we can’t exercise in masks, nor can we keep the dancers six feet apart, we will wait until at least May 31st, and then reevaluate. Some of our teachers, small groups( like main characters for recital) and small comp teams might begin earlier with social distancing in place. I watch Governor Parsons’ press conferences and read related articles frequently..., so we can be on the front side of decisions and respond quickly when circumstances evolve. I will let you know as soon as I set dates for regular classes to resume, for dance camps and for recital . In the meantime, I hope you can enjoy the gorgeous weather and your families. Hip hip, HORAY! It’s Monday and another full week of classes at the studio.

It’s time to spotlight another Solomon’s teacher. It’s Korey’s turn! I have been a part of and dancing at Solomon's Dance Studio for 6 years and counting now! Definitely wasn't on my radar to teach dance, but when Ms. Charity asked me if I'd be interested, I took a leap of faith and the rest is history! My favorite type of dancing would have to be either hip-hop or musical styled performances. Whenever any Ben Rector songs starts to play, I am ALL IN!... As much as dance is fun, my favorite part of being at the studio on Tuesdays is getting to hear how my boy's week was, seeing their joy for creativity, fellowship and learning together. It is always a BLAST! P.S, I might come across as an extrovert, but at the end of the day, I like to hide away from everyone and be quiet. LOL!

Holy ! We’re already into our 6th week of classes as we prepare for Recital 2020!

It’s another day of dancing AND another post getting to know our amazing teachers! Meet Demi I have been with Solomon’s for 12 years. This will be my fourth year as a teacher! I have two favorite styles of dance. They are hip hop and jazz. I always have multiple favorite songs at one time so to pick just one is difficult, but one of my favorites to play while teaching is Bad Liar by Imagine Dragons. ... I love getting to build lasting relationships with all of my dancers. Getting to talk to each and everyone of them each week is what I look forward to. Charity has helped me develop into the young woman I am today and I love having the opportunity to make a lasting impact on my dancers lives just like she did with me. Something that not a lot of people know about me is Christmas is my favorite time of year. I am one of those people that decorate my house WAYYY to early for Christmas, but I am not ashamed!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time to get to know another one of our Solomon Teachers. It's Brooke Freed's turn! "I've been dancing at Solomon’s since I was three years old! This will be my 18th year of dancing under the instruction of Miss Charity. I started teaching when I was 14, so this will be my 7th year of teaching for Solomon’s! My favorite type of dance would be a tie between tap dancing and contemporary! Also, my favorite dance song right now is the Git Up! I love g...etting to interact with my students every week! Getting to talk to them and be a part of their lives is the best part of the job. Watching them improve in their dance abilities every year is a close second! I also love adventure! In fact, one time when I was a kid I adventured too hard and climbed a super tall tree at my grandma's house. Long story short, the fire department definitely had to come rescue me out of that tree. It was quite the day! Still, love to adventure though!" See more

Please contact them if you need them to grab something from the store in your size. ... All dancers 3 years through first grade will begin their dance class in taps from now on. It’s Friday! Which means it’s time to get to know another Solomon’s Teacher! Meet Connor Brooks I’ve been dancing at Solomon’s for 4 years now and teaching for 1!... My favorite dancing to do is any type of ballroom. Anything from The Greatest Showman gets me hyped. I love being able to connect with all the kids. When they’re there they have a chance to get rid of all distractions and have fun in a safe environment. I love all the people I get to work with too, because sometimes that can be a hard part of a job, but being with all of my friends in a fun environment makes it so enjoyable. I’ve built so many wonderful relationships because of Solomon’s. Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I have hundreds of WWE action figures and WWE trading cards. I used to be a big WWE fan!

Meet one of our NEWEST teachers, Sophie! Here’s a few things about her that she wants you to know: I have been here at Solomon’s for four and a half years! My favorite genre of dance is a difficult choice between hip hop and contemporary. I would have to say contemporary!... What’s a song that comes on that makes me go crazy on the dance floor? Oh that’s a tough one! It would probably be Start a Riot from the spider man into the spider verse soundtrack! I just love the way the studio is ministering to kids about the Lord. The studio is built on God’s love. Everyone is like my own family, and teaching is such a joy because not only do I get to learn a lot of new things about myself while doing what I love, but I also get to walk alongside some pretty amazing people in the process. P.S, I believe in the apocalypse.

Classes begin Monday!!! Peace out, summer... We can’t wait to be at the studio with you again! We have so many ideas to bring to life through our dancers. ... Please check out these announcements about our first week of the 2019-2020 season: 1. Our office managers will be hanging out in the lobby this week with you, to be more accessible and to help keep the front hallway clear. They also want to meet our new families and reconnect with friends from last year. August fees are due this week. If you preenrolled last spring, you were charged an enrollment fee, but not August fees. Next week, the office managers will return to their normal post behind the counter. 2. The Red Shoe Dancewear Boutique will be in the studio this week to meet all of your needs. They have the list of shoe requirements for each class. If you would rather skip the studio line, you can visit their Bentonville location. 3. We delay our studio policy meeting until the second week of classes, to allow everyone to settle into the routine and purchase shoes. So, the second week of dance will include a parent meeting 15 minutes before the end of every class. We want to personally talk to you about our dance year and answer any questions you might have. 4. New students: please join our closed group by answering the security question, and then we will approve you. Our public fb page will not include all the details of our season. Thank you! 5. And Dance families, please let your friends and family know about this free special needs class. They also receive free costumes and no recital fees. 3. Below is a list of shoe requirements for each class. The Red Shoe will be here to sell shoes during our first week of classes, or you can visit their Bentonville location before or after the first night, to skip the long lines. They always have our Solomon shoe requirements on hand to help you shop in the store.

Happy Enrollment Day! We will do our best to field all online questions before enrollment starts, but we do have teacher, assistant and staff meetings this afternoon. So, after 12pm today, we will be busy with those. We have had an influx of messages and have changed the issues on our class lists. However, we won’t repost the updated lists until later this week, after enrollment is completed. No worries- The new lists will be used tonight by our staff. At enrollment, w...e will work diligently to accommodate every family’s schedule, but please know that we are almost full as of this morning for all Monday and Tuesday recreational classes, and Technique classes are officially full. Happy Memorial Day! I will be posting the dance camp lists for the June 10th- 13th camps tomorrow. Private message me for the following openings and I will get you enrolled! All camps are $60, except for Jr, which is $40. We have six spots open for Dance Camp, The Original, which is June 10-13, 9am- 12pm and includes ballet, tap, hip hop and contemporary. ... Sophie, Jonah and I (& Jewel) worked on our hip hop today for Original and Streetwise. You’re gonna love it! Boys camp has three openings for June 10-13 from 11:30am-2:30pm. It will include tap, hip hop, musical theatre and street. Boys can also attend the second week of Streetwise with the same curriculum- see below. We also have 4 openings for the second week of Streetwise for boys and girls, which is June 17-20 from 9am-12pm and includes hip hop, tap, musical theatre and street. Finally, Technique Camp is closed, but we do have four openings for Dance Camp, JR., which is created for girls ages 3-6 years, June 24-27 from 11:30am- 1:30pm. Styles include tap and ballet, with mucho amounts of creative movement! We are so excited to pour love and life into your dancer through our new routines and small groups that focus on the souls of our dancers. Watch for summer class lists - coming up! We are SOOOOO thankful for the MANY volunteers that make recital weekend what it is every single year. Without them, there would be no lights, people getting on stage, props, clean rooms, parking spots, etc! They help make the show and the studio run smoothly.

We love and miss all of our dancers, but can’t WAIT to hear of all the experiences that will take place this summer in each of their lives. Remember to set your minds on things above! See you at Dance Camp next month!

All Thursday, Feb. 7th, dance classes are cancelled! Stay warm and safe, dancers! Other announcements for Thursday classes: We will make up our missed snow day by extending recreational classes by ten minutes for five weeks. This means Feb 14-March 15th your child will stay 10 mins later than usual. ... Next week, Feb 14th, is princess night! Make sure to send your dancer in her princess gear! All the teachers and assistants will be dressed for the occasion as well! Two weeks from today, Feb 21st, will be costume night for all Thursday classes! We will try on recital costumes! Pre-competition and Competition classes, check your group page to see snow day makeup plans!

Today was sooo much fun! I got to share my love of creating and nature with some amazing and creative students! We created nature mandalas and started our book... journals! It was a blast! Thankful for all my students’ families and Charity Chesnut Solomon giving me the opportunity and space to do this! See more

Current dance families- don’t forget to join our closed group for all detailed announcements. Snow Day Makeup Lessons!! MONDAY STUDENTS:... We will have a lesson to make up for the November 12 cancellation on Friday, February 8. Your classtimes will be exactly the same as the normal Monday schedule, beginning with the 3’s at 3:30 and ending with Pointe Class, which starts at 8:15. I’m asking the Boys III class (11-14 years old) who dance Remember Me from Coco to join us for practice that night at 6:30 and the high school boys in Hairspray to join us for practice at 7:15. This will be one of only three chances to dance with your partners. WEDNESDAY STUDENTS: Please come for an extended practice on both February 27 and March 27. All technique classes will attend from 4-5:30 on those two Wednesdays. I will be scheduling a Saturday practice sometime in late March or early April for the High School class and all production numbers. ( Mary Poppins, Coco, The Lion King, Hairspray) Stay tuned!
