Tomorrow is SLS Spirit Day! Break out your SLS gear and deck yourself out in purple from head to toe. We have an awesome school and it's time to celebrate! Classes will also be participating in some fun fall activities and receiving treats to take home.

SLS is looking for childcare providers to serve children after school. We need workers who can substitute for care, and also workers who can come consistently five days a week. Candidates should be physically and socially able to keep children engaged, active, and safe. Interested candidates should contact the school office at [email protected] or call (417) 883-5717.

Our SLS Gear Orders are in and will be coming home tomorrow with the youngest child in each family, just in time for Spirit Day on Friday! Picture retake day is TOMORROW! If you would prefer that your child take his or her picture again, or your child was absent on the first picture day, please let your child's teacher know that they should have their pictures taken tomorrow. MPORTANT - Parent/Teacher Conference Update We recently learned that there was a potential COVID-19 exposure risk at SLS. Classes directly impacted by this exposure risk have been contacted through FastDirect and Seesaw. We praise God that the child is doing relatively well, and has been diligent about both masking and staying home when there was a health concern. Given this recent development, we are turning our parent/teacher conferences scheduled for this week into vir...tual or phone conferences. Your child's teacher will be contacting you with information about how to join them via Zoom or telephone, at the same date and time that you were originally scheduled to meet in person. While we know that meeting together is very important, we also prioritize the health and safety of our parents, students, and employees. We will always err on the side of caution to avoid putting anyone at risk. Thankfully, we have access to technology that still allows us to remain connected, while maintaining safe practices. We would like to encourage our families to be safe and smart about any Fall/Halloween community activities coming up. To provide our in-person students with a safe, fun Fall activity, SLS will be hosting a Fall Festival during school hours on Friday, October 30th. The fall festival will be open to SLS in-person students only. Students are invited to wear purple from head to toe to celebrate SLS spirit. Classes will then participate in some safe, fun games outside and will receive treats to take home. It's time to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences! You will find a sign up time for each classroom posted outside of the school office. When it is less windy, we will also hang it up outdoors to help avoid crowded situations. All parents are welcome to enter the hallway in front of the office to sign up. We will have pens available, but feel free to bring your own pen if you are concerned about germs. Families may also choose to email their teacher with their preferred times, if you would rather not enter the building. Virtual meetings are available. The sign up sheets will be posted through October 22nd.
