St. Ambrose Catholic School on the Hill

Mrs. Elmore's 4th Grade class learned that many people often make a pilgrimage to a holy place to learn more about their faith. On Wednesday, the 4th graders made a pilgrimage over to church, where Msgr. Bommarito explained the church’s history. He also talked to the students about the symbolism and significance of the statues and various other items located in the Church. The kids had a great time and really enjoyed their tour.

The PreK-3 class sat in a Prayer Circle today and it went SO WELL! They talked about how we pray and what that looks like! Praying for peace in troubled times.

Ms. Ceriotti’s PreK-3 class are celebrating the Feast of St. Ambrose with Ted Drew’s Frozen Custard and Sugar Cookies. A fitting Way to honor the Honey tongues Saint, the Patron Saint of Beekeepers.

Today is the Feast of St. Ambrose. The Prayer of St. Ambrose O Lord, who has mercy upon all, take away from me my sins, and mercifully kindle in me the heart of stone: give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love, to adore you, Lord, a heart to delight in you, to follow, to rejoice in you, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Mindful Monday: In Miss Ceriotti’s class. After being gone for two weeks they took a few minutes out of their day to bend and stretch and let it all out.

Christmas Parade through The Hill Sunday, December 6, 2020 4:00 PM The parade will go up and down the streets that run east and west from Marconi to Sublette. (They will not go down Dempsey) There will be elves walking in the parade collecting toys for "Toys for Tots".

Mrs. E's and Ms. Seaton's Pre-K 4 classes went on a turkey hunt. Several families graciously agreed to post turkeys for us. We went hunting for turkeys that spelled out a mystery word. Our mystery word was Thanksgiving. After our turkey hunts, we came back and followed a recipe to make an edible turkey out of cookies. Thank you to everyone who helped us. We had a great adventure!
