St. Joseph Parish, Imperial, MO 24.02.2021

If you're looking for a spiritual boost during Lent, please consider our St. Joseph Parish Lenten Retreat. "Following Jesus in Freedom and Love" is a retreat offered by Fr. James Mason as a Lenten study, designed to help form individuals and parishes in this understanding of one’s identity and mission. The virtual platform of this retreat allows the faithful to participate in the parish collectively in a mission format. The videos in this series, with accompanying study guide...s, are designed to help one grow in one’s relationship with Christ and understand our own personal, unique mission to walk with Christ in an apostolic age. In this, we can have trust, joy, and great hope. We will be projecting these talks on our screens in the Corpus Christi Center (CCC) on four Sundays in Lent: February 21st and 28th and March 7th and 14th. The discussions and viewings will be led by Fr. Shaughnessy, Fr. Peter, and Sr. Rosemary. Viewing of the talks will be begin at 6:30 p.m. and small group discussions/faith sharing will be completed by no later than 7:45 p.m. We hope that you will join us socially-distanced in the CCC with masks. See you at Masses this weekend!

St. Joseph Parish, Imperial, MO 19.11.2020

One thing is for certain these days: mask-wearing has become a divisive issue. As St. Joseph Parish has navigated the COVID-19 crisis, we have attempted to understand and follow guidance we have received from multiple sources, including the state, county, and the Archdiocese of St. Louis. As many people are probably aware, there have been quite a lot of recommendations but fewer mandates. For a time, the Archdiocese had said that masks must be worn while moving, such as ent...ering/leaving church or going to communion, but that while seated, masks could be removed. Since Nov. 27, Jefferson County has had a mask mandate. Ask someone what that means, and responses will vary. And, parishes in the region are not all doing the same thing. In light of current circumstances, we now feel that everyone should wear a mask at all times within the buildings on the parish campus, including at all times during Mass. We appreciate everyone’s respectful understanding of this change in policy. See more

Fr. Peter was assisted by Deacon Brian and Seminarian Adam as he offered the Sacrifice of the Mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery in commemoration of All Soul's Day. God's blessings on all of our loved ones who have gone before us! #stjoeimperial #blessed #AllSoulsDay2020

STATEMENT FROM OUR PASTOR, REV. DANIEL G. SHAUGHNESSY In recent days, we have been notified of several confirmed cases of COVID-19 within our parish community. In a renewed effort to protect everyone’s health and safety to the extent we are able, we are upgrading our recommended mask policy: it is recommended that masks be worn at all times during Mass. If you need a mask, ushers will have the appropriate PPE. When it is time for Communion, if you are receiving in the hand, k...eep your mask on to receive, then step aside to lift your mask and consume the Eucharist. If you wish to receive on the tongue, please go to the side where the Mass celebrant is distributing Communion, wait until the end of the line, and then proceed. If you feel medically compromised in any manner, please be aware that we now are livestreaming Masses on the following schedule: daily at 8 am, the Sunday vigil on Saturdays at 4:30 pm, and the Sunday 10 am Mass. The streams publish here on Facebook as well as on our website at https://www.sjiparish.org/livestream. This is a precautionary step in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and is in the best interests of our entire parish community. I thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
