Dear Parishioners, Let me get the business out of the way first ;-) You know the drill. https://stjustinmartyr.org/185383/mass-attendance-form/... ----- OOOPSIES I got a week ahead of myself in the weekend missive. The mini day of service for the playground is scheduled for Nov. 21st, and NOT this Saturday. We will start around 9am. Thanks to those who have signed up already. And if you still want to help, we will use you. You can email me back if you are interested, or contact the parish office and let them know. They have a list. ----- News from the world of SAJE - our shared senior ministry. We have a new nurse! Here is what you need to know, including her contact information. She is a resource to us as a parish. Feel free to use her expertise! ----- We have had a good run in terms of weather on the post-10am Mass communion reception for those watching at home. The time is coming when that will no longer be possible outside. I will be discussing options with the Liturgy Committee tomorrow night to see what accommodations can be made to continue this practice But fair warning, it will entail you having to get out of your car ----- So, Advent By Candlelight has a new evening: Sunday, December 13th. This is a change from what we have posted in the missive. It will be a virtual event this year. And because of the change, it will be in the church only. (no gym overflow possible) Information about sign-ups/reservations coming soon. ----- So, the report on former Cardinal McCarrick was released this morning in Rome. I have had just enough time to skim a summary of the report. The report is an agenda item on the Priests Council meeting this Thursday. So, I will decline commenting until I have time to read a bit more, and perhaps, get a bit of the inside story from what has been shared to the Bishops... Yet, let me say at least this. I am reminded that this church of ours, just like my own heart, is far from perfect, and always needs to be reformed. ----- The Flower of the day more of the ‘Grasses of Pallottine’. Blessings, Fr. Bill, Fr. Johnson, Deacon Mark and the Parish Staff - Continue reading at https://stjustinmartyr.org//pastors-message-mass-sign-ups/

Dear Parishioners, So, here is the epilogue from the book that still touches my heart from my retreat. It was an excerpt from a homily by Aelred of Rievaulx Cistercian monk (1110-1167) on the feast of the Annunciation. Behold, the young woman shall conceive and bear a son. Whoever believes that a virgin has conceived can also easily believe that she has given birth to none other than the Son of God. Therefore, Isaiah says: And they shall name him Emmanuel which means ...Continue reading
