Merry Christmas from the Kirk!

Jesus paid for God’s gift to us. Jesus obeyed God’s law, lived without sin, and died on the cross for us. Jesus said, Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life (John 5 v 24). This is the greatest truth in the world! And it is the most amazing grace ever given!

We see God’s beauty best by looking to Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. Jesus said to his Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me (John 17 v 24). Excitement from gifts fades with time, but Jesus’s beauty never fades. Christmas says that Jesus came to show us God’s beauty.

ord Jesus, you came to give us the right to become God’s children. Please give us faith to believe you are the Son of God. We want to be God’s children in your family, forever. Amen.

Lord, we pray that the people of Hungary, and particularly the youth, would know the gospel as the power of God for salvation. (Romans 1:16)

Christmas movies old and new warm our hearts. What stories help your family to get ready for Christmas? Even our favorite movie or book does not tell the best story of all. Jesus came to give us the gospel, his true story, which is better than any story ever told. What is the gospel? It’s the true story that God forgives our sin through Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection.

Today we pray for those who are developing friendships with Muslims, that these friendships would lead to saving faith.
