Californians pay the highest marginal tax rate in the country, and yet the state's reckless left-wing policies have created a staggering $54 billion budget shor...tfall. Federal assistance will now be required to help pay for this colossal mismanagement. Residents have reached a breaking point. They're now fleeing the state.

MU President decides to keep the statue of Thomas Jefferson. My letter to him: Dear President Choi,... I am sure you don’t need my support, but I just wanted to thank you for your decision NOT to remove the statue of Thomas Jefferson. As an immigrant, I can say that many of us came to the US for the exact values that the Founding Fathers imprinted in our society. Over the years, I took the charge upon myself to understand more deeply the many issues and troubles of the American Society. Now, as an American Citizen, I still feel that those values were fundamental in the many historical events that unfolded afterwards: the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Cold War, and many other decisions the American people and its governments made to guarantee freedom and prosperity to us all -- including the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s. Thomas Jefferson, as many of the historical figures in many historical moment, may not have been a perfect man. But that does not change what he did/contributed to improve the human condition for people all over the world and what he still represents for us, Americans -- which is celebrated by and should be/is the sole reason for his statue. Finally, as you well implied in your decision, we can not judge a historical figure by today’s standards. In fact, it would be completely unfair to do so since *they* are the ones responsible for our current standards -- however little one may think those standards evolved due to their very contributions. Cheers, Gui DeSouza

People ask why they should learn so much about biology, math, statistics... since they want to pursue this or that profession. Under such pressure, school...s lower their teaching standards, we cut days of the week, hours of the day... and our parents and students get what they want: ignorance about basic science, virology, history... Ignorance makes them to misinterpret advices for caution... to compare now to 100-year old situations and expect worse... it leads to panic, and panic plus ignorance to buying toilet papers!! And *that* is why everyone should learn so much about other things beyond the narrow views of their professions. It’s time for us to stop pressuring our leaders for easy rides, stop holding them liable for not providing those easy ways out, and start pressuring them for what really matters: good, difficult-to-earn-without-effort education.

American Airlines flying to Columbia Missouri: sucks!!! Flight cancelled due to missing pilot!! Pathetic!! I have to fly to KC and drive to COU - which I co...uld have done from the beginning and save the $$ difference. COU is too small. Anything can cause cancellation and then there is no other option but a next-day flight.

300+ steps plus a 30 minute walk to the botton of the steps!! That's to go up. To go down the ambulance was quicker. ;-)
