I would not typically post something like this on my business page because I respect and value the belief systems that each person brings with them to therapy. I do feel that the current world circumstances call on each of us to join together in calling upon our belief systems to seek relief from the physical, social, economic, and relational impacts of COVID-19. With that in mind, I offer this invitation to participate in an international day of fasting and prayer for relie...f: *Fasting can mean whatever you're willing to do to show a sacrifice. Traditional fasting consist of giving up food & water for two meals, but whatever you can do will help, such as abstaining from treats, fast food or junk food. If health prevents you from fasting, pick something to fast from, such as television, social media or anything you enjoy that would could signify a sacrifice. _
Your mental and physical health is important to me during COVID-19, as a result all sessions are currently being offered by Teletherapy.
Thought for the Day

On this day of remembering 9/11 here is a beautiful message about the power of sharing emotions to create connection from a firefighter who became a therapist and personally experienced 9/11. https://youtu.be/G1ecmtDePtA
I just started reading a book by George Faller, LMFT, and The Rev. Dr. Heather Wright called Sacred Stress. I love this quote from the prologue: "...the act of sharing vulnerability not only creates the richest environment to truly know oneself, but also offers a spiritual space where we can fuse with a source of love much bigger than either (marriage) partner."
I attended a fabulous week of training including specific training on Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I heard this statement in the training: "We need connection like we need oxygen." Connection is at the core of successful family living and when that connection is disrupted, distress happens in the family. If you would like to know more about creating stronger connection through family therapy contact me!

With all the choices available out there from self-help to life coaching to therapy, I found this article to be a helpful starting point in understanding the difference between a life coach and a therapist.
