USDA’s January reports are often and market moving reports and that was certainly the case for January 2021. USDA made an historic downward revision to the U.S. corn crop from November to January. Soybean production also fell with projected ending stocks tightening even further from last month. While winter wheat acreage edged up slightly from a year ago, wheat prices moved up sharply following steep gains in corn and soybean prices. Marty Foreman with University of Missouri Ag & Business Policy Extension, provides a review of the report in the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZRHOw5YjB8 #ExtendMU #AgBusinessMU #2xAg2030 #MUNWR

A recent U.S. Census survey found 27% of Missouri small businesses expect to need financial assistance in the next six months driven largely by COVID-related economic disruptions. Small business financial health varied widely in the past year. After weakening in spring 2020, it improved throughout the summer but then fell in the fourth quarter. Financial health may improve in the coming months, however, given that Congress approved an additional federal COVID-related stimulus bill. Read the latest Missouri Economy Indicators brief to explore financial health by industry and find resources for understanding how the second round of COVID-related stimulus may help your small business, https://extension.missouri.edu//missouri-economy-indicators. #ExtendMU #BusComEx #MUNWR
