I was honored to present today on Behavioral Approaches to Eating through the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MOAND)! It's such a great feelings to combine the two things I love, Counseling/Therapy and Nutrition, to help educate other practitioners. #ShowMeNutrition2020

I’m so excited for this certification!! Intuitive eating is something I believe in 100%! I’ve seen this approach help heal and transform my clients relationships with food and themselves! When the fears and panic of COVID-19 begin to settle, be on the lookout for some exciting new things I will be offering for those seeking food freedom! Thanks to @evelyntribole for her guidance and supervision in this process! I’m honored to have been trained by the Original Intuitive Eating Pros! #intuitiveeatingofficial #intuitiveeating #certifiedintuitiveeatingcounselor #edrecovery #edrecoverywarrior #antidietculture #antidiet #antidietdietitian

Humans need comfort. We can find comfort in a variety of things. A hug. A conversation. A blanket. A candle. A cookie. Wait! She said a cookie? Yep, I sure did! Foods have emotional ties and when we eat them and find comfort, it doesn’t have to be a BAD thing. Comfort eating becomes problematic when we use food as our first line of soothing rather than trying to meet the actual need! ... Ask first: 1. Am I hungry? 2. What am I feeling? 3. What am I needing? 4. Would you please.... When we can begin to identify our emotions and our needs, food is able to stay as just food that tastes good! We must work to remove the stigma that emotional eating is morally bad. Guilt doesn’t have to follow the eating experience that provided comfort and nourishment! #intuitiveeating #honoryouremotion #dietitian #recovery #HAES #bodypositivity #EDTHERAPIST #eddietitian #rd #bodykindness
